RELEASED TODAY!!!! Of course, I already have it downloaded, but seeing as how I have been a Metallica fan from the moment I could listen to the radio, I am obligated to purchase an actual CD....WHO's WITH ME???!?!??! BTW....This new album kicks ass. Brings me back to the days of Ride the Lightning or And Justice for All....very hard core and raw....I love it. I just wish I was going to still be in San Dog on December 15th, when they come to town...
After there last few albums im almost scared to get the new one. If they went back to there roots it may be good. We shall see.
Honestly, I liked all their stuff, even the new stuff that everyone else hated....But the new album is f*%^ing awesome. judge for yourself guys, here are a couple of good tracks off of that album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOx1z1OFVfo that is all nightmare long, one of my favorites. this is the ten minute orion like and damned near as good instrumental only. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6iCm1xLHJo and here is the opening track.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu2UF1wAGws if you're not convinced now, I don't know what else to say
Don't be scared to get this one. It is pretty damn good. I heard a comment saying "it sounds like 'Kill em All'...with bass!". LOL I bought it today and am really digging it. Their back!
ill be downloading it...legally haha. gotta give credit where its due. ive had it for almost a month now, but it was the radio version. the cd is prob much much better.
I'l give these tracks a listen and see if there are more previews on iTunes. Might as well pay for some music. Just reminds me of how much St. Anger sucked balls. Holy Crap!!!! Lots of 7-10 minute songs. Cool!!
I went for a mountain drive today...nice and cool out. Rolled the windows down and listened to the new album. I'm with you Wade...so far those are my two favorites!
They have been playing all their songs on Sirius this weekend.... i have only heard the day that never comes, cyanide, and Unforgiven 3....Cyanide is far and away my favorite so far
"Death Magnetic" has been on the Metallica site for 3 days now, playable through a flash player. Metallica - Death Magnetic For the most part, I'm pretty happy with "DM". I'll be receiving the album in a few days - the wifey got a set of pre-order tickets for the both of us (they play in late October here in ABQ), which came with the CD itself and a download of the concert we'll be attending.
Good please do. That episode with Napster really turned me off to Metallica. Ulrich is a b*tch, and can kiss my ass if they think I will ever spend a cent to listen to their music ever again.
Walk into a performance shop, grab a turbo for yourself and a friend, and walk out. Download a song without buying it. Any difference? Stealing is stealing. Plus, the NAPSTER thing was what 8 years ago? Also, for what it's worth, they've embraced technology - the whole album is available FOR FREE in a link I provided just a few moments ago.
No kidding...It's time to get over that, people. seriously. If thats the only reason you have for not liking Metallica, then somebody's got issues. It's about the music.....
My God Metallica Is Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I'm blaming them for making me street race last night which I never do, just something came over me at the 2:50 mark of All Nightmare Long and took it out on a T/A Firebird
I understand the logic behind your statement and it is very true. What I don't agree with is the fact that users were banned off Napster if they happened to download ANY Metallica song. I happen to own EVERY Metallica album up to Black, this includes many rare import albums. I was banned off Napster for downloading one Metallica song(a rare verison of One). Did Metallica happen to think at anytime that they would be offending any of their long time fans? Of course not; to Metallica it was all about the mighty dollar; NOT the music. These artists fail to realize that sites such as Napster gave them a much broader base to grow their fan base and expose their music to others who might not listen to it otherwise. I have found many new artists through file sharing sites that I otherwise wouldn't have known about. If I find an artist I like, I go buy their album. It's a win-win for the artist in my eyes. Of course there are those who don't go buy the albums or support the artist and that I do not agree with. At any rate if you like Metallica, a few other artists you should check out are Shadows Fall and Threat Signal. I choose not to support Metallica anymore, this is my choice just as much as it is yours to support them. I'm glad Metallica has embraced the technonolgy, to bad it was 8 years too late.
When Jason left, I swore I would not listen to them anymore. I owned every CD, even the video box set - cripes I was a fan club member for years (lol). I have never heard St. Anger... now I'm tempted to listen to this one because everyone says how great it is. I'm so confused! What would Jason do?
