jeff, dont take this the wrong way dude, but that line of thinking is pretty retarded. you dont have to drive like an idiot to get popped. with the recent proliferation of speed trap cameras (there are two in stockton that they are trying out) this sort of technology is a must.

i do not currently run this spray (from mythbusters) but i would strongly recommend it to anyone who lives currently in an area where these cameras are stationed...ie arizona and im sure it will come to CA in the next couple years. we desperately need money and its only a matter of time.

there are also very speedy lights out there and combined with traffic, you can indeed easily be caught in an intersection when the light goes red.

i would run this pc plate in conjunction with my weathertech clear plate cover.

How are they going to know who you are to give you an illegal modification ticket?

You do realize all those speed cameras in AZ are set to 11 mph over the speed limit, right??

I didn't take it the wrong way....I drive 80+ on the interstates constantly, I just don't weave in and out of traffic. If traffic gets heavy....I slow down.

3 years in San Diego, and I have yet to get a ticket for anything (knock on wood)

Sorry I was under the impression that this was "activated" by the flash on the camera.

Actually with the Naked eye you won't know they are treated just Flashes pop the formula. As a matter of fact High Beams won't affect it either.

Exactly, the trick is to make the plate shinny enough that when the flash of the photo radar/camera hits it all the numbers get blurred out ... or something like that. So is it illegal to "polish" your liscence plate? And how can a cop tell when he pulls you over, you can only tell when a flash hits it and a pic is taken at that moment.

Hey, I don't want to take sides but here in Naziland ... er, California they've been using photo radar since the 80s, it's bs. I can understand both sides of the arguement but really photo radar and cameras are out there for one and one reason only ... to make the city money. They don't care that if you had hit the brakes for that red light you would have started a chain reaction that could have caused a major pile up and possibly lives. No, they only care that you ran the light. IMO photo radar and cameras are bs. IMO.

I believe that's it.It is a compound that absorbs certain frequency's of light.
here in IL. we have to pay toll's to drive on certain highway's so greedy pollitions dreamed up "I-PASS" this continually photographs your plates so even when you pay tolls you may get a notice that you're not and a fine goes along with all this red tape--- so if you are in an area were you may have the same "BIG BROTHER" issues that we do this might be something for you......... if not? well then carry on

    good luck

    thanx

kevan, youre either not listening or not understanding. this is not the photoblocker spray that was debunked on mythbusters so long ago. this is something new.

    I'm actually doing both.
The very first line of my post says "SOUNDS exactly like this...".
I did NOT say "I'm sure it's the same as this...". I'm not condemning anyone (nor am I selling anything).

Maybe you missed the part of the video at 1:40 where the guy talks about the new cameras that see right through 'coatings'.

I would be willing to bet money that people would be more accepting of speed and red light cameras if the city just came out and said " The city needs more money so instead of raising property taxes we are doing cameras."

kevan, it sounds nothing like a canned spray...but i guess that just me.

the funny thing is, its not the camera at all that is affected by the coatings, its the flash that goes along with it. sure, they will state that the camera isnt affected....in reality, its never been. places like bridge toll areas (fastrak over here) dont use a flash, so more than likely there will be no advantages to the coatings except for red light cameras.
