Post the possibilities and prices when you get this together. I'm sure there are a few of us wanting this.
there are many many possibilities available -- getting a phone call into me allows us to disguss the particulars of the engine builds ---- no two are ever the same
If you're keeping the same displacement, all you need are rods, pistons, rings, and bearings. You can swap the rods and pistons out with the motor still in the frame. Short money for a forged motor.
I thought it for for a super charged application (sorry) how much boost what kind of super charger , what kind of cam etc,. these are things we like to talk about--- truthfully the expectation of the build right?? some super charger applications would be better suited to have a key way cut in the crank ( so there for ) one broached in a balancer or possibly the use of an aftermarket balancer wich may or may not have a key way broached these components should be mated accordingly by size and depth of key way
Another thing to consider here is Mileage of the original engine and the Lack of Ma Mopar being 100% on their machining Process that lends to different bore sizes in stock Blocks. Heck Powerhouse's engine had 4 Cylinders that were out of spec by over .007 that makes a huge difference when it comes to forcing air into the cylinders. You want to swap out for forged internals in the chassis be my guest but don't tell anyone I told you to do it. When we build a motor for anyone we have a sheet with 30 questions we ask and it's everything from the littlest detail to What Head unit are you running What's your final desired HP number(makes a difference as to what Parts you will be using) and whether you will Daily drive the car. Also we have cams built for each Engine we build at that depends on the application as well so that you end up with Matched components. Gone are the days o f Just bolt it on you'll be fine engine building. Heck we wouldn't have gotten 500 HP out of Powerhouse's motor let alone 665 if it wasn't built properly.
My thoughts are to just have better pistons/rods put in to add some more meat on top. Supercharger is still up in the air but I like the SMS one that is coming out. Boost would be somewhere around what they recommend. I just want the extra protection of having more meat around the rings, so it can be tuned better. I am trying to figure out expenses beforehand and you are so close to me. 06 w/ just over 8500 miles Are you guys still PPP installers?
Well with the Ross Blower Pistons and good rods you will be looking at around $5,999.00 for a Built shortblock for low boost
You can get a complete forged 392 stroker kit for less than $2,700. That includes the complete low end internals..... bearings, rings H-Beam rods, forged pistons, AND a forged 4140 stroker crank. Everything except the block. That IS at 10.3:1 compression but I think 9.5:1 is available. There is really very little block work to be done for a 392 stroker and you are already tearing it down to the block even if you want to just install forged 6.1 internals and use stock crank. I would definatelly send my block out for a "blueprint" check and smooth grinding of all casting flashes, especially if I was going thru the bucks to get forged iternals. All the grinding work you can do your self, might as well grind away enough room for a stroker while your at it. If you have a set of calipers.... you can do most of the matching for the blueprint. If you are going to do it....do it right.
