I got a 2008 Viper and I am not sure if there is something wrong or if I am doing something wrong. When you unlock the car with the clicker get in and try to start it it will not start unless I click the unlock again once the key is in the ignition, Is the right?

You should not have to press the unlock button a second time.

Get in, put the key in. place it in the on position, push start button.

If it is doing what you are describing, take it back to the dealer and have them fix this.

yeah, thats what i thought. even the putting the key in the ignition and turning is antiquated and not needed in this day and age.

    In the Viper?

Apparently it only start when it knows you're driving for a good cause.

Seriously though, put the key in, push the button. It's that easy...er should be.

Sounds like something's up with the car's immobilization (security) system. Take it to the dealer for sure. It might just need a PCM re-flash, or a new key/key-fob.

    Welcome to the "C"! :)
