Got my new wifey, Sarah, a new car! :)

It's a 2005 Mazda RX-8. If anyone has any knowledge about these, please speak up  , as I don't know ANYTHING about the "new" (Renasis) motor..... It's a nice car for the money. Loaded out (leather, sunroof, auto w/ flappy-paddle gear changers :p, 18" wheels, the works!).... all for $15k. :dontknow:  (They wanted $18,995.... but, some of you know, I wasn't going to pay "retail". ;) ).

Here are some pics: (the first few are from in the garage... but, it's dirty and needs a "once over" ;) So, it's cool they didn't come out too good  ).... the rest are from the dealer's website.

We're going to be working on a few things in the next few weeks.... I will post pictures on the progress. :marchmellow: I hope to have a pic of the whole "FLEET" (2005 SRT-10 Ram, 1967 Corvette Conv., 2008 Mustang Conv. (dad's), 2005 Mazda RX-8, 2002 Mercedes SLK, etc) soon. :D ;)

I bet that car is a blast to take on mountain roads...sounds like you got a great deal on it too!!! The only thing I do know about the car is that it's black...better get a "California Duster"....It's saved my ass from daily washings!

ALL my cars are BLACK, Buddy. :friends::bigwink:;) It's kinda the family color. :smart: This particular vehicle can actually FIT in a garage, so it won't be too bad. :shifty: But, it's still a PITA, I know.

I don't know about Mountain Roads.... First, because we don't have anything other than LEVEL ground in FL..... and Second, because she hasn't let me drive it yet. :ronlove::p

The good news is that it's an automatic.
That way, you're still able to drive it, Jake.
    :D :D :D

Definitely better with high RPM's. Fun cars and pretty tough. My neighbor had one and he beat the sh1t out of it with no problems.

Holy crap...am I the only one on here that actually owned one in the past? Neat.

I had an '04. REALLY fun car. Not much room in it, but a hoot to throw around. Light, and fast. Not a fan of the auto, but the 6-speed I can speak to. Short throws, high revs.

I took it to the Ozark mountains once and really had my way with her. Just as fun as you'd imagine.

Because that sucker can rev to 9000 rpm, don't be surprised. It took a LOT of getting used to. It doesn't like 3000 rpm...it's at home when it's screaming.

Oh, and the engine is designed to burn oil. You're going to have to put more in from time to time if you change at 5k miles. If you change at 3k, probably not.

Thanks for the tips, PJ! ;) I'm not a fan of automatics either. :erm: But, it's not my car so I didn't really have a dog in that fight.

very nice.. it was a hard decision between buying my srt4 or rx-8, but with the kiddo, i kinda needed the srt4 for the back seat room and stuff. also more practical for gas mileage and stuff.

if i didn't have the kiddo, i woulda got the rx-8 in a snap. much nicer car IMO.

those cars are awesome for AutoCross or road racing.

back in june this year a black Mazda RX8 wont the Rolex 24 in the GT class.

they have good 50/50 weight distrubution.
awesome handleing, and are great at taking corners.

the 2 rotor engine could use some more power but over all its an awesome car.
