Not a Mopar but I need insight...

My accountant (and long time friend) has told me for years that if he ever sold his pride and joy that he'd give me first dibs below market value:

1968 SS/RS Camaro, numbers matching 396 4 spd. - concourse quality frame-off restoration and perfect in every detail down to the redline bias ply's

He want $ 60,000 Canadian with a caveat that if I sell it, he get's first dib to take it back (unless dead, then he'll be happy as he'd have done a good job directing the investment for me, lol).

I've admired it for a while but who can tell me what this car is worth?

Worth much more than the 60K you can buy it for.

Nearly identical to this but better with the 396 (but same white vinyl top, rear spolier and original style redlines and orig. early model rally wheels).

    I'm stoked now boys!
He's allowing me until Spring '09 to scrounge up the money...
Frankly, if I can't drive it, at least it might be a great way to save for the kids University funds.
This I'll pay for a private appraisal and will let you know when it comes back.
    Thanks again people.

Man...investing in cars is a crapshoot. There's a reasonable chance that classic muscle won't be selling in 10+ years.

I'd say that unless you're buying it to rock it, don't bother.

I have an original numbers matching 67 RS/SS Camaro in my garage I'm working on ... Last time it was inspected was 1973 and it had 7,300 miles on it and I have proof ...

    Buy it now!!

The one pictured has 396 flags on it. What 396 does it have? 325, 350, or 375?

Here's a pretty good site for Camaro's for sale.
