Tucked in and stored away safely in Houma, LA my Charger SRT8 made it through this terrible storm named Gustav while my family and I evacuated to Florida. While my home town is bruised, its not broken. Down on the Bayou, Hurricanes are always expected but never welcomed. That is the price one pays for living on the coast. Most of you probably never heard of Houma, LA where this storm took direct aim, because the media always focuses on New Orleans, LA. My home town is is located in Terrebonne Parish which means "The Good Earth". This is the location of the most productive estuary in the south along the Gulf of Mexico.

I am a very lucky guy to be able to once more cruise the streets of South Louisiana and scare Mustangs after we as a community repair the damage left behind from Gustav.

    Soon to Ride Again,

    Terry

Wow, you are waaaay down in the swamp, hehe. My brother in-law would be familiar with your area since he used to work the coast summers, he's from Monroe. Will have to ask. Congratulations on the safe return...

That is great news Terry. You're right, I had never heard of Houma, LA until this past weekend. I heard them talk about Houma several times on CNN as I watched their coverage of the storm. I hope that you can get your lives back to normal again. Good Luck and keep strengthening the levies.

Not only have I heard of Houma but I live their for a summer playing minor league baseball. The team was only their one year before they went bankrupt so you may have never heard of them. The team name was the Houma Hawks.

I'm happy all is well and still in one piece.

Thanks everyone for the great comments! We are slowly getting power restored here in Houma and the surrounding area.
