They cant get info correct either..I remember when the SRT8s first came out in late 2005...Edmunds listed them as having 3.55 LSD rears..
Those are pretty slow times for any SRT8. It seemed to me that at least they scratched going into 3rd gear...that's cool!!!:thumb3:
So I guess no one remembers before tuning and mods what our sleds were running stock?? Mid to high 13's most of the time if i recall.Depending on conditions,IE driver track prep blah blah.
Cool vid but yeah the 1/4 mile was ran on the shut down???? get it on a real track and a better driver!
Agree but not quite that slow. From the big 3 (MT, C&D, R&T) the slowest 0-60 time on any LX SRT8 was 5.1 for the Maggie. Same thing on the 1/4. Either that Chally was VERY green or they just can't drive (I pick the latter).
Hey Scott. Yes I remember. Especially for us both that live in hotter parts of the US. On avg. I would get 13.5 to 13.8, in my stock SRT8's, depending on how hot it was outside. When we got cooler temp. here in Texas, my best was 13.04 at 107 in stock form, no mods. What I do not understand was the guy in the video stated that they tested an auto-stick Chally first and got low 14's in the 1/4. That they were hoping to get better times with the 6 speed Chally, which they ran 13.8. I have never run a 14 or higher in my autostick SRT8's, when they were stock. Maybe because the guy was a test driver and showing you 1/4, 0-60, braking, cones, etc. If they put a more exp. performance driver/racer in the seat for the 1/4 and he knew how to shift a manual, the 6speed Chally would have posted better times.
which one? edmunds seems unbiased and says the 6 speed is faster. Ya'll all have automatics and say those 5 speeds are faster. Any other unbiased viewpoints out there?
Dont know it it would be faster.I guess it depends on gear ratioc etc..Definitly would be consistant though..
This is funny, I was just surfing for something entirely different and came across an old Edmunds test of an 06 MSRT8, wanna guess what times they got? 0-60 in 5.6 secs, 1/4 in 13.7 @ 103.5. That was from 10/05 when they were just coming out. Does any of this sound familiar, lol! Edmunds, meh.
