Has Diablo worked out the issues it had with the Predator yet? I know there were some front diff and maybe tuning issues they had a while back.

Who can give me an update on the current version?

No issues, where have you been lately? Everybody seems to be running a tune of some sort. The AWD problem was fixed a long time ago.

Thanks. I have been away for a while, but my bro-in-law has a Jeep and doesn't keep up with this stuff. I was going to look for a deal on a Predator for him.

I notice when I loaded the current version of the 93CAI tune my trany temps where up 20+ deg.

    I didn't like that.

My MHP/B&G tune put them back to normal with great shifting

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye on that.

Sorry to say both you guys are sane :eek:oh:. The diablo does a crappy job of maintaining converter lock up and my tranny temps averaged 30-40 degrees higher then with my BnG PCM / Super chips tuned TCM and 20-30 degrees higher with the Diablo and my Mopar TCM.

I love the gas mileage I'm getting with the new diablo tune, but I don't want to buy a tranny any time soon. Does it hurt the transmission to run at those temps?

Well that's a million dollar question right there. I can tell you that after a couple hundred miles of continous driving, mine slips enough to drastically notice the difference. But others claim they are perfectly happy with the Diablo TCM tuning. So maybe it's just me and the freak that I built.......who knows.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with the higher temps. Ask BuilderBill about long term affects (keep in mind he's selling trannys  )

There's some aux cooling out there. Mattrobertson on Lxforums has a bunch of "Frankencooler" stuff.

I was thinking the same thing, the higher temps can't be good in the long run, what about a tranny cooler??

That's all well and good. But the heat was created from slip. And slip induces additional wear. And regardless of temp, the slip still remains.
