    Good eveneing everyone!

Just wanted to say hello. Recently crashed (not my fault:stars:) a pristine 2003 Mercury Marauder, so I'm seriously looking into 300 SRT8 and Grand Cherokee SRT8's as potential replacements. My car club guys are razzing me about it but hey ya gotta look at all the alternatives.

That said, I'm a part of the group that is putting on the Super Heavyweight Shootout this year, at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA.

For the past 7 years the GASSIT gang (Georgia Super Sport Impala Club) has been putting on this show and doing a great job. Its getting bigger every year due in large part to the Blue Oval and MOPAR crowd coming with some pretty impressive Iron. This year our Marader club is joing forces with GASSIT to put on the best event possible.

Mark your calenders for Nov 8, 2008.
It's a great time of year to make horsepower, and you never know what you will line up with....... In the past we have had CTS/STS-V's, AMG Mercedes, GTO's, Crown Vic's and some very tricked out Lincoln Mark VIII's in addition to our vehicles.

What you won't see is FWD Honda's with fart cans making squeeeling noises. This is the premier 4000lb + Car and driver drag racing event of the year. Pre register early and check out the rules/details at SSHS8 .com ( I'm a newbie...the site won't let me post the URL, but fix the above) register early as spots are limited.

Hope you all can make it.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Thanks for the welcome and your advice guys. Much appreciated.
Nevin- I love that Drag Racing quote! I used to rally race when I was younger, and you are spot on... That is the real deal.

TN- I'm afraid the SRT-10 2 dr. is not on the list. This is gonna be a dailey driver with need for more seats. Otherwise I would look seriously at it....... Everybody can use a pickup

Thanks again all! Cya around :)

Guys- Thanks for the welcome! Good to see that there are alot of folks down here in the south who enjoy these rides. Hopefully I will get things squared away in the next couple weeks. One of the problems I'm facing is a couple of very appealing M5's (flame suit on LOL) for similar money..... Just trying to weigh the miles & year difference variables, and what it costs to maintain 03 M5 62k miles prisitine condition$26,000/ 01 M5 70k miles $21,000 vs. the SRT300's I have a line on (SRT GC's are not in the mid 20's yet here in Atlanta from what I have seen, so I may have to back off that thought. I did drive one the other day though and man does that setup pull the fillings out of your teeth!). Decisions Decisions :)

No doubt the SRT GC is incredible...... Makes ya wonder why anyone would pay the extra for an X5 4.8 or a Cayenne Turbo ...........
