I was at my dealer today and the service mgr said he had the Chrysler rep coming to inspect the Challenger they had sold (only one they have sold)......guy put down a deposit almost 2 yrs ago to be the 1st owner in the area........after waiting so long he gets a hemi orange Challenger with a major paint flaw and several scratches....

His car has a 6" diameter spot in the paint on the left rear quarter panel that looks like dirt under the clearcoat......there are scratches on both doors around the door handles....the guy didnt notice all this until after he bought the car....I think the excitement of wanting to get in and drive kept him from taking the time to inspect the car.

Anyway I will say Chrysler was very fair....they offered him the choice of getting a brand new car with the same options or Chrysler paying up to double the amount the paint manual said it would take to fix the spots...he could have the paint job done anywhere he choose....he would also receive a lifetime warranty on the whole car paint for as long as he owned the car.

He choose the paint job route as he wanted to keep the car since the sticker had his name on it.

I brought this up so others that had problems could see how easy it is to get issues resolved when the dealer helps......lot of dealers would have said "you should have inspected the car before buying"......the real issue is this was no skin off my dealer's back...all they did was contact Chrysler to resolve a complaint....as any dealer can do....i just dont understand why some dealers act like this is so hard to do....

Nice to see not all the dealers are that bad. Definitely a place to take your ride back to.
