The fastest EQ car is no more....

Jeff, now would be a great time to go SRT8... dealers probably aren't selling any!!! Maybe you could even snag a Super Bee!

 

I tried that about a month ago.

There was a Super Bee on the floor with a 19,995 dealer mark-up on it.....

I told them to F*** off.

 

Oh...I forgot to add....We test drove a black SRT-8 so my wife could finally drive one. She fell in love (+1 for me getting an SRT-8).

But she absolutely REFUSES to let me spend an extra 4K for, "A stupid little Bee emblem."

 

Jeffrey, I still have that second Charger srt8 in the garage, just waiting for a good home. Let me know.

 

I would LOVE to buy one private party.....but I would need to sell the neon first.

I am going to use the neon as a trade-in......unless someone wants to give me 13K....

You can come to my dealer....they are starting to stockpile SRT's hahahahaha....i counted (just what i could SEE) five....Charger, GC, CSRT-4, NSRT-4, and a Maggy

oh yeah adn today the Challenger is gonna be added to the list haha

The dealer I was at had at LEAST 15 SRT-8 chargers on the lot. Only three or four were used cars. The rest were brand new 08's.

 

well then clearly they NEED to mark it up since ya know....they are obviously selling like mad! hahaha

 

D@mn ...with that many, you should be able to make a deal to get one practically for free.

 

Jeff... dear young, innocent Jeff... here's how to go about this whole thing (it has worked for me):

1. Contact the internet sales person at the dealership via email... 'CC' about 20 other persons in the same position at 20 other dealerships throughout socal. Inquire as to what car you want with what options, color, etc. But state that you'd be happy with 'whatever color/options' so long as its a Charger SRT8. *this is an instantaneous bidding war and will allow most dealers to throw you a quote as you've given them more latitude on car variations.

2. Get outside financing ahead of time and state in your email that you've got a check in hand, ready to purchase NOW.

3. When you go to the dealer that gave you the best price, try to haggle a little more... at the VERY least, get a tank of gas or two, the SRT8 floormats... heck, depending on how desperate they are (usually dealers in smaller cities/areas), negotiate a CAI or Corsa catback into the deal. For the smaller ticket items, wait until they have the contract ready or just before saying: "I'll sign this right now and walk outta here today with that car if you throw in a set of those upgraded SRT8 floormats"... that's like $100 in your pocket.

4. If needed, I'll loan you my contract to show I bought for just under MSRP about 1.5 years ago... throw that at them too.

5. As far as trading the neon in, forget it. You get anally raped on trade ins. Put her up for sale now in a bunch of different media (Craigslist worked FAST for me to sell the Mustang GT), and I wouldn't necessarily expect to get all the $$$ you want for the Neon. Expect to drop your price.

6. Strip the Neon of any bling or non-factory accessories that the average buyer may not like/want (personalized items).

"There's your sign!"

Private party sales are ok (especially if the car has some factory warranty left), but even better if you know the person (aka: Luis) and can knock on their door at 0300 hours in a black ninja suit if they sold you a lemon!!!

I don't care what people think about John and/or PTP...but damn this car is SLOOOOOOOOOW. I can't believe how well the modded stocker actually performed.
