Is there a simple Nitrious Kit which we can spray through the Air intake or utilize of those fancy throttle body nozzles that RDP just came out with. Something I that can be turned off and on with a switch and I dont have to have all kinds of gauges and things I need to look at. Is there such a thing as spray and forget without blowing something up ?
well not zex thats a finiky pain in the ass. I've heard cold fusion is basic but good. Actually most co's offer a no frills setup or you can go alacarte. It's the ones with control units I'd watch out for.
I thought Eddie from SHR was selling his complete kit off his Charger somewhere but couldn't find it. May want to PM him as people were saying it was a good deal.
god I hate all this talk about nitrous I just took mine off. now I see this and think fuck I really should put it back on. but I know I will just end up at a 250 shot again and mess somthing up. Jokin be careful man its addictive stuff.I would loo in to a nos or zex kit. I liked both of my kits. zex has a wide open throttle unit that worked great for me.plus it maxs out at 150hp. If your planning on spraying more than that I went with the nos big shot kit worked great.
I have used my Zex kit for almost 2 years..No issues. And great for beginners. Also makes a clean install without cylinoids sticking out all over the place.Right now i am running a 175 shot with no issues...If your in the market for a inexpensive N20 kit.Zex is the way to go.....BMC has a slammin deal going on right now..
OK so you can just buy a nitrous solenoid and fuel solenoid along with the adapter to connect to the fuel rails along with some line and a bottle. You're done. You could try and activate it off of a simple push button but I wouldn't suggest that at all. Why? Because if you hit the button with the car running but not accelerating - BOOM. IF you lift the throttle while the button is pushed - BOOM!!! So how to do it safely? Besides the simple bottle/solenoids/lines you need the following: 1. Full throttle switch (something that senses voltage to activate from the TPS) 2. Window switch - so the nitrous only engages between a certain RPM 3. Fuel pressure safety switch (FPSS) so that if you lose fuel pressure the nitrous won't go (no fuel - BOOM). There's a reason for all the gadgets, it's so when you get all adrenalined up racing you don't make a stupid mistake with the button. I've seen it happen MANY times.
I have to concede that most folks have had good results with the Zex kit. However, if any one of you would have laid out well over $1k for something that has never worked. Followed by a complete lack of support from the manufacturer. You would have a griping post right here also. so far, with the help of the good folks at Mopar Supercenter we have all but ruled out the car itself as the cause. Still though, I'm on on my second control unit, the cost of which I suspect MSC likely bore themselves, given Zex's attitude in the matter. A bit over a year now and still not resolved, yeah i'm pissed. I will say that Mopar Supercenter went well over and above with their help,at considerable time and expense. They have a customer for life in me.
I'm using the ZEX kit and love it. I had the window switch which never really worked correctly, so I returned that and now just go right off of the WOT sensor which comes with the kit and the system works great.
This man knows what he is talking about! Thanks for the plug too! On sale right now for 589.00!! http://www.bmcspeedshop.com/product_p/zex 82177.htm
Scott, if you had to guesstimate....how many passes which you say you've done with the nitrous and without hiccups. (I kept your phone number in case I can't stop myself lol)
That is the entire Zex Hemi Package, Bottle & bracket, All the Nitrous and fuel lines, Zex Controller, Pre-tapped fuel line crossover, jets, switches etc. The extras that you will probably want/need, are colder plugs, a Purge Kit, Pressure Gauge, and blow down tube. If you are looking into N20, we can put together a package of everything you will need.
