I'm mixed on this one. If what he says is true and that other past Olympians have been invited to the Olympics VIA the Olympic Committee I could see where I would feel left out, but if it has anything to do with his "I'm better than you" attitude no wonder they did not want him there.

the way i see it, it seems like in every sport they seem to invite the former record holder to the game, or event in which their record is to be eclipsed. i am somewhat surprised, that in this day and age, that he was not asked by the ioc to be there to see this. granted i thing spitz is being a tad selfish, i do see where his logic comes from considering how these types of things go in todays sports world....
