474rwhp/462rwtq +124rwhp/+112rwtq over stock All of this achieved with the stock exhaust in place. The car will be getting a custom catback installed on Saturday and should pick up between 15-20rwhp. There is no supercharger, turbo, or n2o on this motor. It is 100% naturally aspirated. Car has the following mods: PPP 426 PPP Stage 2 Heads PPP 426 Race Cam PI 2800 Converter American Racing Longtube Headers PPP Custom Tune Factory Exhaust PPP Ported Intake Manifold C&L CAI
There are a total of 5 challengers in here right now waiting for 426's. This one is done and leaving on Friday. Next one up is a black one.
Should be pretty close to 500 once that stock exhaust is chopped and tuned for. Strokers make some serious power and are probably more cost efficient than going with a supercharger especially if you intend on forging the bottom end for added boost.
I would say that 490rwhp is more realistic, but 500rwhp would be nice. That is correct. Thank you. It depends on your opinion of what a full 426 is. Do you want the heads/cam/intake/valve covers/coils/injectors/tb/etc? For the 426 with heads/cam already installed, figure about $9000. http://www.purehorsepowerperformance.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=81
I have a copy of the list(fastest 1/4 mile LX cars) along with the video of the 11.08 pass that jeremy made...
11.6 from Maurie 11.7 from John 11.7 from jack 11.9 from paul (2500 DA. Josh from HHP was driving it. lol.) Those are the 3 fastest. I suspect they will be in the lower 11's with some cooler weather. The 11.6 from maurie came on a day that we went 11.4, so once it cools off, I think he will be in the 11.2-11.4 range. I have a 426 in Denver that only runs 13.3's I think, but everyone else is allot slower than him. His time sucks because of the DA.
Those are impressive times fo sho!!! Are these fellas running the exact same set up as Jeremy's car? Just wondering how Jeremy's car is a good half second quicker or is it mostly an issue of DA and track conditions since that would explain it. Hell some of these guys need to run at Atco, E-Town and the like. Ship them to Napierville, Quebec LOL...where lightly modded SRT8's run sub 12.5's hehehe. I just can't wait to see more LX's in the 10's...and THIS season.
It's all about the DA Milan. A winter Atco car can run a second slower in Phoenix in the summer. One of my F-Body friends did it. The cars aren't faster, they are just running under better DA.
Nice dyno sheet Andy. The HP number is not that high but the Torque number is great. Remember, There are head cam 6.1's out there that will pull that hp number but they won't touch the tq #. That being said no way do I see a cat back adding anywhere near 25hp. But a little break in time and some further fine tuning might get it there. Good Job.
Thanks, like I was saying earlier, no heads/cam car is going to make 450rwhp on our dyno. In fact, I will pay $100 plus the dyno time if anyone wants to bring a heads/cam car to our shop and dyno it. We have never seen a heads/cam car make more than 425rwhp on our dyno. Even the Mopar 392 doesnt make over 430rwhp. These are some heads/cam cars on Dynojet 224's. These heads/cam cars made an average of 413rwhp. Frank Racings fastest 6.1 heads/cam car made less than 400rwhp on the dynojet 224. Everyone thinks the dynojet shows higher numbers, but I just dont see it.
