So I decided to take apart the stock SRT-4 boost gauge and I've come to a conclusion on why they break.

No the materials use inside are cheap. Well atleast the plastic piece that elevates and controls the needle. I found a fix but broke my gauge because I was messing with another part of the gauge. Should of left it but I wanted to test more on it. I replaced the plastic piece with a metal piece and it made the needle stiffer instead of having play and flutter.

I fluttered the gauge like crazy in vac and boost and let go real fast and it was dead on the "0". So I concluded a way to fix the gauge without touching the rest of the gauge.

I went to far into testing other parts on the gauge that I broke it. I wanted to connect it to a "T" under the hood and start the car and give it throttle at the tb to see how it turned out. But of course curious me after fixing that problem decided to mess with the springing arm the goes along to the top of the gauge and broke it.

Don't guarantee I won't break it more. But I'll put my metal arm in it and run my original tests. The plastic arm they use has too much play and I concluded that's what causes the flutter. When that arm weakens it starts given false needle readings.

    okay WAY off topic...

get an apple, (has to be green) put creamy peanut butter on it and cover the peanut butter in snow caps.

don't ask how i found this out, lets just say it involves mr. cuervo and an empty pantry...
