    Braves Announcer Skip Caray... 1939-2008

    Rest In Peace, Skip.

AP- The Atlanta Braves, in a statement, announced that Caray died in his sleep at his Atlanta home on August 3, 2008. He had been suffering from failing health for nearly a year prior, but returned to work for the 2008 season, calling a game on radio as recently as 3 days before his death.

Skip was the son of legendary Harry Caray.... The Caray family has a long and continuing history in sports broadcasting. His two sons are also sports broadcasters.

With this passing, baseball not only lost a great ambassador but a true gentleman and friend.

Thanks for keeping so many "...entertained, and awake."

I have been sorta depressed today over this sad news. I started watching the Braves back when Bob Horner was at first and glenn hubard was at second and rafeal ramirez was at short.....can`t remeber the 3rd baseman for sum reason. I remember Dale murphy and Claudele Washington in the outfeild and the braves would finish dead last year after year, but i did`nt care cuz they were and always will be my team...THE BRAVES! Skip Caray was the man behind his father and it saddens me to know that i will never hear hih play by play again.....RIP MR CARAY
