Today I just put in the stage 3 fuel rail/injectors, PCM, and sensors. With the stock pump and turbo can I drive my car like this? Not neccesarily at WOT, just for transportation And if not, would you reccomend that I start my car like this before putting in the fuel pump as a test? That way if it doesn't start or something I'll know its not fuel pump related. Or will it throw a bunch of codes without the s3 pump and I shouldn't start it?
yea u can drive it like that as it is since your on the stocker still just dont have the stock pump in when u put the S3 turbo in and go WOT
Hmmm. I've gotten conflicting viewpoints on this. I've been told that it wont have enough fuel pressure at idle with the stock pump.
Ofcourse, I know what would happen if you have to much boost and not enough fuel. But strictly talking about daily driving... His idea was that the stock regulator at the pump allows for 58 psi and the stage 3 replaces that with one that allows 75 psi. The s3 fuel rail also has a regulator that pulls it down the 75 psi to 50 psi. If I didn't replace the pump then it could pull the 58 psi down to 33 psi at idle.
The///man ran a stock pump, injectors, map,tip with a stage 3 iirc He just made sure he didn't boost it.
he went into boost, he just let the PCM control boost. thing ran like a champ and looked stock. but thats not the question being asked. 7055: the regulator should still try to maintain a base of 58psi, its going to try to get 75psi out of the pump if the boost comes in, which will most likely burn the stock pump up. if you're really worried just dont drive it. why not just get to work and put the turbo and pump in? you could have had it done by now
