I recently upgraded my half shafts to the 1000 HP shafts, and have noticed that the rubber boot closes to the wheel is rubbing against the KW coil over shock. Has anyone else who has installed the 1000 HP half shafts noticed this? It seems like over time it’s going to rub through the rubber boot.
This is has been an issue on other cars as well. Hell, it even happened to me. My shafts are from GSM. My fix was going a tad smaller boot. For my car it works like a charm. I think I have heard that others have ground down the shock housing just a bit. Not something I would do though. Where did you get your shafts at? Maybe call them and ask what their fix is. Let us know.
Thanks for the information Ron, mine were installed at GSM also. Dan is working the problem for me. Did GSM supply you with the smaller boot, and did your original boot finally wear through?
haha Yes, Scott had a smaller boot in his office. We took the side off that the boot wore through, and I spent about 2 hours at the shop Scott uses for the axles and Quaifes. I am confident that Dan will get you squared away. If they question the boot, have Dan call me. I will inform him. Dan was not yet working at GSM when we discovered my boot issue.

It just keeps getting more populated, when I moved here in 1968, the population was 10,000 and now there are around 105,000. I remember the days if you wanted to go to a good place to eat or shop you went to Sacramento or Concord. Now there all right here. I still like it after 40 years.

I have the 1st set of GSM 1000HP shafts. We have had no issues with mine.. Cindy and I spend quite a bit of time in Vacaville. Our God son and family live in Dixon. We stay at the Vacaville Marriott Fairfield Inn 5 or 6 times a year.

Yours and mine did not have the clips to keep the shafts from slipping out of the pumpkin. That is why Scott replaced mine in March. Yours were done before that.
Do you have any idea Ron how many miles you had on your half shafts before the boot finally went? I was just wondering, I have about 500 miles on mine now, and I have another 419 mile drive down there, to get a fix in place.
