Hope everyone around the LA area is okay, check in when you can. From CNN: A magnitude-5.8 earthquake has struck just east of Los Angeles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Los Angeles was hit by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake Tuesday. The quake's epicenter was about 2 miles southwest of Chino Hills and about 5 miles southeast of Diamond Bar, the USGS said. Chino Hills is about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The center was about 7.6 miles deep. In general, earthquakes centered closer to the Earth's surface produce stronger shaking and can cause more damage than those further underground. A 5.8 magnitude quake is considered by the USGS to be "moderate," which can cause slight damage to buildings and others structures. About 500 can happen globally each year, the survey says.
well at least it seems like the people who were near it are all good...thats positive us non quakers dont know what 5.8 is hahaha
Catchin' some rays in the lawn chair and thought Hemi bumped into me there for a second until the wife called... Lol!
Yep. Sitting at work, my chair rocked a little back and forth... our building shakes a bit from folks in the weight/exercise room from time to time, so I didn't think THAT much of it... then reconsidered... sure enough, word spread pretty quick around the office about the quake.
Ahhhh,... I can make that magnitude just by jumping up and down. Still. Hope everyone closer to the origin of the quake is ok.
Gonna get calls from the family about this, they just don't understand that SoCal is like six hours drive away...and that California IS that big. This is on the news right now, 5.4, freaked a lot of people out, but no serious injuries or damage. Still, it was felt all over and some said it was a side-to-side AND an up-down motion, like the Northridge earthquake.
It Was Actually Me That Caused It! My Fat Ass Tripped On My Feet Lol Jk! That Was Scary I Must Say!!!
