I just bought an 06 SRT8 300C that is fully loaded except rear video last week. I was trying to be a good guy and buy the new VW TDI Sportwagen as a commuter car but when I got an alert for this car at $24K I couldn't pass it up. Sure it sucks gas faster than I can fill it up but I have a work truck for a DD if need be... My previous American RWD platform was the 96 Impala SS which I ran a 175HP dry shot on a stock motor with just headers/cutouts and intake for a national record of 12.3@110 for awhile. I loved that car but after blowing the motor at 180k miles with over 400 passes on the nitrous and replacing with a rowdy 396/high stall it was almost undriveable for a DD. I tried an SRT-4 for awhile but wheel spin SUCKS ASS and for the last 2 years I have driven a Mazdaspeed 6 which after throwing a 3071R was one of the first to figure out that the rods are paper thin and toasted the motor (one of a few hundred guys now). I love a full size RWD vehicle (although I initially wanted the Jeep SRT8) and just doing intake/exhaust/chip and a wet shot appeals to me. I'm hoping to put down some mid to low 12's by xmas time. Just need to figure out the nitrous setup I'm going to do and some track wheels/tires. Hopefully I can find some front skinnies and rear fatties that will fit with our brakes. The nitrous setup will be completely stealth (like my Impala) using the rear defroster button as activation and a WOT switch with a combination of fuel pressure safety/window switch for activation. I will either run a separate 1 gallon fuel cell or meth for high octane, I haven't decided yet... I guess I also need some half shafts and an adjustable suspension setup. Time will tell! Here's a couple of pics of my old rides and my new one: Mazda with 19's, lowered and custom liquid to air intercooler 1996 Impala with 396 tons of bolt ons and mini-tub with 18x12 and 335/35-18's rear - street trim and track trim shown My new baby which came with the 22's.
Welcome to the C from TN...you have come to the right place to learn how to put that 300 in the 12s.......or lower if so desired..:welcome:
Welcome to da C!! that impala is AWESOME...looooove it! I am sure you will really enjoy the SRT as well!!! :welcome:
Welcome to the "C"... Great story man. lol And I see you have an N2O thread already, so mod on and enjoy.
Nice rides and welcome to the Connection! Love the fat tires on that Impala lol...look awesome. You shouldn't have much of an issue getting in the mid to low 12's depending on your exact setup and DA.
Congrats on that car...you will be very happy with it! If you want you can do like me and alot of other guy`s here and do a 426 stroker. I am in the process of saving the funds right now for it, but there are alot of guy`s here that have already done it. I`m sure the nit. will be nasty too.
