Meth kit

My local diesel automotive place sells meth in tanks like propane. Check your local propane dealer as well but it will be 100% and you will have to bring it down to 50/50 thats whey I would stick with Snow Performance pre-mixed stuff, little more expensive but takes the work out of getting it right

Now really....How hard is it to mix 50/50?

Help ! It seems there are two of us seperately installing the James Lobonte Kit and running into the same issue as the controller is not getting a Tach signal.

I believe, now dont quote me on this because mines off boost not tach, but you should be able to tap the number 7 fuel injector wire. Its the same one most use for tapping the remote start from mopar. I am not 100% but it might point you in the right direction.

As far as performing like its a cool night. So far I am only running water(just got 5 gallons of meth yesterday). I am seeing 20 degree drops in IAT readings with just water after sitting in 15 min of traffic. I will be mixing the meth tonight. I can only assume a bit better drop and more octane So for reference my ambient temp was 101, my IAT read 104 and I ran mid first till mid 3rd and IAT read 84 when I left off.

 

As far as what fluid to run...
You can buy Meth as SDcarguy and others do and mix your own water/meth mix.

Typically we use windshield washer fluid, however you need to be careful to buy the right type. You don't want the kind that has any type of detergents in it, just plain water and methanol. This is almost alwasy blue..stay away from other colors and read the labels.
Here are some quick tips to make sure it is the right kind of fluid.
The fluid is Blue
The label says protects to -20 or -25F
No soap bubble form when you shake the bottle.
Note: You want to avoid mixtures that contain propylene glycol (anti-freeze). This is commonly added to window washer fluid to lower the temperature rating and is harmful to the engine if injected.


Here is a list of some common brands, and the breakdown of ratios. One item you will see listed is HEET, this is 99% methanol and is anotehr altrenative to boost the meth content in the washer fluid or use to mix with water.


The other option is to buy boost juice which is pre-mixed. Snow Performance makes this and we carry it.

Not a bad price for those that dont want to mix and great info on the fluids! I wish I wasnt in cali where the hippies rule I paid 41 bucks for 5 gallons of pure meth.

I was given info about adding one bottle of HEET to each gallon of Windshield washer fluid.

You can buy HEET at your local WALMART for 1.28

I had some free time this weekend so I made this video of my nozzles spraying for my water/methanol..this was just pure water as I had drained the system this weekend to give it a 2 month inspection.

 

Damn it!!! All this talk of meth kits, now I fucking want one! I need a second job and a psychologist.

I assume it depends on how you have it set up and how hard you run the car, but how long is it between fill-ups with this system? How big is the bottle/container?

 

i know that john tapped into his windshield washer bottle. hopfully it will last 3 to 4 weeks. depends on your right foot.

 

Obviously this benefits F/I cars more, but I'm considering it on my NA application. Do you think (besides the longetivity of the IAT sensor) that this is a reliable mod in terms of engine longevity? Any side effects to injecting a 50/50 water/meth mixture?

Only if you're tuned to depend on the meth for preventing knock. On your current set-up Drew, no there is no damage if you run out.

If you tap the windshield washer reservoir, you'll also get the low wiper fluid light when you're running low on meth.

The last thing to consider is that this kit sprays above 3000 RPMs (or corresponding boost). So you won't use any fluid while cruising or puttering around town. It only activates when you get on the throttle.
