Here are some pics that I took from the SRT Nat's road course... Group Pics... The Hemidog...speed rated for up to 75mph on the way to the track... Staged... Action shots...
how did the ACR Viper do? haha.... and how was the course?... and how was seeing the challenger in action? DETAILS!
:dribble::dribble::dribble:... :dance4::dance4::dance4: :love::love: I will expand later. Right now though, it's time to go do the whole work thing...
That ACR was AWESOME! That thing flew around the track. It seemed to me to have no problem keeping up with the mustang that was running in it's group. And I use Mustang very loosely here. The Mustang was a purpose built track only car. I asked about rides in the Viper. Originally the answer was yes. However upon further review, Viper rides were declined due to the lack of passenger seat belts. :cry2: I wasn't too disapointed, as my 6'4" didn't look like it would fit very well in the cage anyways. As I said before the Viper seemed like it was keeping up well with the Mustang, but even if it wasn't quite as fast. The Viper drove off from the track to hit the autocross event, while all us remaining Mopar guys had to push the Mustang into its trailer, 'cause it broke. So in the end the Viper won...like it would ever have been in doubt.
The course was very nice. Perfect for me, being that I am a Newb. Nice road, smooth track, fun turns. It was great learning for me. I even got to drive the course in the rain. I was impressed in that I didn't have to slow down much even in the rain. Probably means I wasn't pushing hard enough on the dry track. I know quite a few guys were hitting 100+ on the straights, I was only hitting 90+. Both of the in cabin Videos that I took, are over 15 min long. We were running in 15-20 min blocks. Here is a short clip of one of the skittle running. I'll guess I got probably 75% of the track.
its amazing how much more controlled people are when they are driving THEIR OWN CAR (except rick of course haha)....at the track experience we were on the road course and really pushing some of these turns....we have a fairly short straight on the ETOWN track and i think i hit like 95 in the charger  haha its a good time though....the more you do it the more fun you have...how many laps did you get? just one lap around?
I got four runs in...I could have done more if I wanted, plus one ride along. Tried to get a second ride along, but my big @ss didn't fit well inside the cage of the 1LapSRT Neon...I was so looking forward to it to.:cry2: We were in groups, 15 to 20 minute run times. I was too busy trying to learn to drive the course, let alone count the laps I was doing. But I will guess at least 10-15 laps per session. Oh, my one ride along was a session with the Challenger. That review is still coming...
that is pretty freaking sweet!....15 laps per session would be freaking GREAT!...FREAKING FREAKING GREAT haha.... it does sound like it was a good time
For starters...they brought the wrong color. :domotwak: But the whole color thing aside...the car is sexy as H3LL. And the whole push button starting thing...:dribble: The car is nice on the inside. Nothing really special, very roomy, and comfortable. Quiet and refined. When he got on it, the exhaust note picked up nicely. Still a little quite, but at least somewhat respectable. The acceleration was good, especially since it has all that weight to move. I guess I'm spoiled here, 'cause the acceleration didn't seem much better than my neon. (again I'm sure the weight issue) The Engineer who took me out, decided to try to catch the Stage two Neon in front of us. He may have been just showing off, but I wasn't going to complain. :bigwink: I was very impressed with the car in the turns. The car handled like a dream. He seemed to slowly catch the skittle through the turns, but the skittle would pull a little on the straights. Given a little more time and possibly a different set of rules, he may, and I say MAY have been able to pass. The whole time we ran, the car was shifting. No autosticking for him. That too may have made a difference...IDK, but the car was SMMMOOOOOOTTTTHHHHHHHH. The power was there, when he got on it, the trans didn't seem to hold it back any at all. I am very impressed with the car. I know on the track, I was wishing Dodge would take my two kids in, as a trade on a Challenger. All things considered, I was very impressed, and would take one in a heart beat.
With any luck, someone else there will actually have gotten some pics of me going around the track...
