Here ya go guys as is was terrible last nite. Tract altitude 380 FT + DA Time..........Temp..........Humidity..........Pressure..........DA 5PM...........78.7...............58................29.47............2499 FT 6PM...........76.6...............61................29.48............2351 FT 7PM...........74.9...............64................29.50............2219 FT 8PM...........71.8...............71................29.50............2023 FT 9PM...........69.9...............71................29.53............1853 FT
I wasnt going but changed my mind and went up late. I was running with just a tad over 1/2 tank of 91....I hate that. I usually run low tank with 100. 1st run.... 60'-1.67....330' 2nd run.... 60'-1.64....330'
Well last nite was terrible the DA was at 2500 ft at 5pm and 1853 at at 9pm. I made 4 runs 2 were ok last to i had a problem with the JEEP shutting off at about 150 ft b4 the finish line but the engine was still running but like at idle and my foot was to the floor and Alex and his buddy said my brake lites came on at that time and as i was slowing down it ran fine back to the pits. We fig it was the abs/tc acting up as i had the abs/pump fuse pulled as i allways do. Well heres my 2 runs. After putting the fuse back in it ran fine on the way home and this morning with (abs fuse in) and t/c on i made 2 runs just like i was at the track and it pulled strong to 110 mph and didnt shut down so i guess it was the abs/tc acting up with the fuse out. RUN 1 DA........2500 FT.......CORRECTED TO SEA LEVEL 60'.......1.822 330'.....5.367 1/8......8.370..................8.13 MPH.....81.81.................84.16 RUN 2 DA.......2219 FT 60'......1.785 BEST EVER 330'.....5.323 1/8......8.308..................8.09 MPH.....82.13.................84.20
We ran a 8.44 at 80 mph at 8:19 in a QCSB Truck. Spartan Cam and Inertia heads. BTW I drove Stanko's Jeep Last night. That thing Is Crazy Fast.
Thats pertty quick Lonnie with the DA we had. You remember that trouble i had on my 2 runs well when i got home i made a pass with everything hood up and no problem so fri morning i made a pass with the fuse pulled and 0-110 pulled great and no problem with it shutting down so chit who knows lol.
http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=91706 this is taken 1 mile from the drag strip.
Ok thanks for the link, that's where I get my weather info from too. I think you may have mis typed the BP though
DA Correction The track is 780' above sea level- check "TRACK FACTS"! http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks/CA/Irwindale.html You need to change the date to July 10, 2008 http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KCAIRWIN1&month=7&day=10&year=2008 We use this Density Calculator... http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_da.htm It appears that Jims math is actually low for the DA that night. 1700/5:00pm = 2996' above sea level 1800/6:00pm = 2861' above sea level 1900/7:00pm = 2673' above sea level 2000/8:00pm = 2506' above sea level 2100/9:00pm = 2328' above sea level
The track is 780' above sea level- check "TRACK FACTS"! http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks/CA/Irwindale.html Steve i called Bob Cline 3 months ago and I ask him about the altitude and he said it was between 380 - 410 ft ASL. Hell now im not sure lol. Your link says 780 and mine says 380 lol. Heres where i got my altitude from. http://www.schnitzracing.com/Tracks/california.htm Inwindale Speedway 13300 East Live Oak Ave Irwindale, CA 91706 (626)358-1100 (626)357-4227 fax Contact: Bob DeFazio, Promoter www.irwindalespeedway.com Altitude: 380' ASL Length: 1/8 mile Surface: Asphalt, 100' concrete pad Description: Racing Thursday and Sunday nights. Regardless, I would trust the word of the people who own the track, not some advertisement.
I agree Steve. My son has an altimitor if i can ill get it and bring it next time i come.
Whatever! I agree Steve. My son has an altimitor if i can ill get it and bring it next time i come.
This says 469' http://www.epodunk.com/cgi-bin/genInfo.php?locIndex=10319 This says 587' http://www.wunderground.com/US/CA/Irwindale.html The City is only 9 square miles of rock quarry and the track sits at the highest point of that dump. The point is that your DA readings were in the ballpark if not pretty accurate. It seems that "proudhemi" is not using the same method to figure DA or is looking at the wrong day.

All you have to do is call or pm me and id be glad to do the DA readings for you.
Not to be an ass, but you must be looking at the wrong day. If you go to wunderground.com and look up irwindale california for july 10th 2008, where does it say anywehre about the BP being that low. Here's the link ..http://www.wunderground.com/history...tml?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA How does something soo simple become so complicated?
Reading Comprehension "NOT TO BE AN ASS".......but the weather site you are referring to in your post, is clearly noted for the Downtown area of Los Angeles.....NOT IRWINDALE! If you slow down and read POST#11....again "not to be an ass", you would have observed... it clearly is for I w i n d a l e. If you need us Jeep guys to help you 1500 Truck guys read military time let us know. http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KCAIRWIN1&month=7&day=10&year=2008 Talk about making something complicated!! :dumb:
