HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH and i thought that i was bad my first time at the drag strip!!!!!!!! ahahahahahahaha the only thing better is if he woulda hit someone in back of him hahahahaha really someone should escort him to the gates...take his keys....and send him on his merry way
lmao Now, I have NEVER tried to stage using the back tires, but I have been there done that with leaving it in reverse. hahahaha
HAHAHAHAHAHAhahahaah!............. I remeber my first time at the drag strip was me getting ready to pull out of the staging lanes to head to the light, 60-80 ft away, and the track owner walked by my car and hits the passenger window and yells "get your long pants on!" The tech guys said shorts were fine earlier, so as I am slowly coasting to the X-Mas light I am taking shoes off, switching shorts over to pants, putting shoes back on, (mind you, all this while getting ready to stage with the car moving) roll through water box, hit the stage light, the other car was already waiting for me............stage, lights go and I cut a .004 reaction time! This all happended against "goofeytimL" I believe in his SRT8 Magnum. This has been my best Reaction time ever!.............HAHAHAHHAhahahaa
In all seriousness, that has happened and killed people before. That's probably why one of the official NHRA rules is (paraphrasing) "the last motion during staging must be a FORWARD motion." That way you can't do exactly what that guy did - back into the lights and forget to put it in 1st.
That's friggin funny! I suppose with an automatic that might be easy to do, easier than with a 5 speed BUT ... you gotta go forward to win!! Put it in 1st baby!!
I'm sure that guy felt like a complete ASS!!! Especially since its on YouTube!!! I just hope I never to it!
I think he lost before he got into the staging lanes LOL!!!! I remember having to inch forward for like a minute to get the Staged light to come on...couldn't see the damn thing!
holy shit, i just literally spit diet coke on my lap top!!!!! thanks scotty.... i am sure ol' ronnie will love that comment!!!!
thats what happens when you get nervous. he should not even be allowed to do a burnout over the starting line with that call, who does he think he is john force, lol.
i have to laugh at this video, but i have seen this as well!!! it has been a loooooong time since i have actually run a true 1/4 mile, but i can remember when i first learned how to race when i was 17, i went through the staging lanes, pulled up to the water box, drove around, backed in to the water and proceeded to do a huge smoky burnout IN REVERSE!!!!! after the burnout, i went to pull forward and did what the driver in the video did, but damn near hit some one!!!! i looked around and people were rolling on the ground laughing!!!! i felt friggin sooooo stupid!!!
