Hey guys how are you ?

I have that clunking coming from the front and rear while driving and it gets more severe with prolonged driving times and/or hard driving.. I have really had it with all the silly clunking that is getting more severe by time.. And today I say let's try the ESP OFF (I have an ESP issue it doesn't engage properly.. I guess it's a wheel speed sensor thing..) After I disable it ALL THE CLUNKING IS GONE and the car feels smoother !!!! I enable it again the clunking is back.. What the hell is wrong here? Transfer case engaged disengaged and stuff like that or what??

the dealer has a TSB that I had done and it cured 99% of my clunking. Also check you TC fluid, if it's dark in color, they say you change it. I did and it helped.

TXSkye I did this TSB before.. I thing it is referred to as the transfer case self check after each cycle.. I think my issue is more related to the fluid.. I ordered the right fluid it should be here soon ... Here is what BuilderBill said about my issue in my post on the red site :

" Ok ol' buddy....it sure sounds like the clutches in the transfer case are suspect.
Could have been caused by very low fluid or the wrong fluid at some point in time.
From all the ones I have rebuilt, the clutches to steel interface gets "sticky" with the incorrect fluid or low fluid or water in the fluid.

With your ESP off, I believe the transfer case is being engaged and staying engaged more often.

VERY crazy design on the entire clutch pack in the 21st century!
It was designed with 2 sided frictions and separate steels, much like back in the '60's. The frictions are made of a decent material to try to compensate...the darn frictions cost close to $50 USD per friction clutch.

    Hope this helps!!!
