:furious: I ORDERED A SILVER CHALLENGER FROM THESE GUYS IN COLUMBUS,GA IN DECEMBER THE DAY THEY STARTED TAKING ORDERS AND PUT DOWN A 5K DEPOSIT. GOT THERE YESTERDAY B/C MY CAR HIT THE LOT AND THEY SAID THE FLEET MANAGER WHO IVE DEALT WITH FOR YEARS DIDNT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO SELL ME THE CAR AT MSRP. NOW THEY HAVE A ADD ON STICKER FOR 20K. WANTING 61K FOR THE CAR. SORRY SUMB*TCHES. IVE CONTACTED AN ATTORNEY AND WILL TAKE THEM TO COURT IF I HAVE TO. MY FATHER IS IN THE SAME BOAT HE ORDERED HIS A WEEK AFTER I DID WITH A 5K DEPOSIT. THEY STILL HAVE OUR MONEY. JUST LETTING YOU KNOW IF YOU DEAL WITH THESE ASSHOLES. IVE BOUGHT SEVERAL CARS FROM THEM AND HAVE FOLLOWED THESE CARS SINCE BEFORE THEY WENT THROUGH THE FACTORY. THEY HAVE 2 SILVER ONES. ONE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MINE.
OUCH! I know that most dealers are putting a 10K - 15K market. 20K? Yikes. Of course they probably should have mentioned to you about any market adjustments when they were happily taking your deposit.. Sorry man.
Did you sign anything stating the sale price? Also, $20,000 mark up was what the Charger SRT8's here in San Diego had for about a year... most still have it, but they'll sell at/around MSRP.
damn....yeah i'd have a nice little talk with them about that lol.... if you put $ down thinking you were going to get something at a certain price...they (i dont believe) can just be like...no the price is really 20k more now
Eddie, That SUCKS big time! Sorry to hear that. I hope you have something in writing stating the MSRP price is what you were going to pay............
X2 Worst case may be that they give you the deposit back and you give the car up. Can't imagine that they'd hold you to such a higher price.
Go get 'em...I hope the lawyer you get, bends them over and get you your Challenger...for free. That is sooooo wrong.
lmao, James, to me the funniest replies are always the ones where the author takes the time to "bleep" out letters of one swear word and then puts something like you did afterwards, lol. PS. This dealer really is am effin-mo-fookin-cork-soaker as far as I'm concerned too.
they have two silvers bone, one at each dealership in columbus,ga no i had nothing in writing. i bought these over the phone like i did my truck and my sons truck. attorney's are working on it.we will see how it pans out. by cashing and depositing our deposit money that should have sealed the deal, or binded the contract. the fleet sales manager know what he quoted and if it comes down to it will either have to lie or loose his job. so it will be a he said she said kind of deal.
I hate to say this, but just because you put money down, doesn't necessarily mean you had a binding contract, as what this comes down to is a "he said-she said" issue... testimonial evidence; in addition, the dealer will claim that the deposit effectively was a means to secure the right to buy the car, but not necessarily at a certain price. The likely outcome of this will be you'll get your deposit back and no car at MSRP... now, if the two parties involved signed an agreement/contract to sell at a certain price, well, that's a totally different story. I'm sorry to hear this... dealers, while scumbags, aren't as stupid as we'd like to think... that's why they didn't have you come in to sign anything... so they would not be legally bound.
