Location: Downtown New Orleans, La Specifically 2nd floor of this 80 something year old building, room about 80' x 100' and OLD Reason: AAC, the company that makes the Halos and sells some of the HID kits was filming a National Commercial for the Speed Channel for their HID kits and I with some others was invited down to participate. I had an idea for a cool shot...having my Magnum start off frame and then slide 180*s into frame and end up with the headlights facing the camera as this was a commercial for the Halos/HIDs The video director wasn't quite sure what I was thinking (and honestly neither was I) so I told him let me try it out a couple of times and see what happens 1st try....too much of a turn and not enough slide give (BTW the sandbag I hit was there to represent the camera.....oops, yeah we moved it back 20 ft.): http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...t June 2008/?action=view¤t=100_0614.flv 2nd Try: too much throttle: http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...t June 2008/?action=view¤t=100_0615.flv 3rd try (and last if I didn't nail it as there were some concerns from the other crew downstairs as some of the roof down there was falling off in little loose chunks): http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...t June 2008/?action=view¤t=100_0616.flv Nailed it, front end would of ended up right in front of the camera 4th try (1st one with Camera rolling, I can't hear them yell action as it is loud in the car) http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...June 2008/?action=view¤t=100_0617-1.flv 5th try..was told to go a little past square with the camera, a little farther back and drive up towards the camera. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...t June 2008/?action=view¤t=100_0618.flv BTW I am a Professional Driver (not) and this was a closed course, don't try this at home. If anyone wants to take all these videos and create one seamless one PM me please, I don't know how to do it. Some other pics from inside:
That's awesome! from FAIL drifter to master drifter in 3 takes :worthy: Redfoxx goes nationwide TV! They did get sound track with that didn't they?
Awesome Nate. Looks like I missed a great time. Yea, I was invited, but their dates were conflicting with my work schedule. ARGH!!! Good job buddy.
Yeah the sliding wasn't the hard part...getting the car to stop where they wanted it to pointing directly at the camera was the hard part. The guy looked at me after I got it on the 3rd try and goes, "Great, but can you get it to end up 3 feet farther back?" WTF...sure dude...like it's that easy.
The noise from Nathans Magnum inside the building was awesome. But he forgot to tell you that this building was old and all the shaking and drifting of Nathans Magnum caused small chunks of concrete to break loose from the ceiling on the first floor. Some of us whose LX's were parked below Nathan were getting a little worried. But none of the cars got damaged and they got some great shots of Nathans Magnum drifting indoors.
I will autograph one of the two magazine artilces my car will be featured in when they come out in a few months
