Late to the party, but I'm confused... my Charger got 385 on a mustang with just the zoomers and the airhammer. 318 sounds like hmm, an RT? Maybe?

Anyway, good luck with this Momo. I know you're giddy like a schoolgirl or something.

Tamara no offense but i doubt it was a mustang dyno. They are notorious for reading low. I have ran over 400 at the wheels on a dynojet and ran 321 on the same dyno momo ran on. In this case, as with dynos in general, the numbers are just for tuning. The after numbers showed about a 25% increase. This package on this dyno hit 400 rwhp. On a dynojet or other type dyno I wouldnt doubt it hits 475-500(depending on conditions)...so if after the kit you would like to run his 400 vs your 385 im sure we will know the diff :) Hell from what I hear back from ryan hes afraid to drive his car now :)

The other thing to mention about the pre-install numbers is that the cars were put back to stock, except CAI and cat-back. No high-flows, no Predator tunes, etc.

Um, it was a Mustang dyno, I've got a dozen other guys to back me up on that, including TALON and rsmeanie who were there and had their cars dynoed. And 385 makes more sense for rwhp if the advertised flywheel hp is 425.

I know I'm a chick but having been to a few dynos, I know what these cars are supposed to dyno at and 318 is freakin' low for an SRT. I thought it was a typo to be honest as 381 woulda made a LOT more sense for a stock SRT.

Just for kicks here's my dyno print out:

Also here's the website for the folks that did the dyno:

    http://www.brgracing.com/dyno.html

    And I quote:

And I am offended.... Just because I'm not a gearhead or from San Diego doesn't mean I don't pay attention to my LX peers and how they're cars perform. If anything I'm shocked at being questioned. Like I'm just stupid or something.... done with this thread.

Tamara, no one was questioning whether you know LXs or not.

The fact is that in general Mustang dynos do read low, just the one you have experience with didn't. The one you guys used may have been newer, calibrated better, just loose, or they could use different resistance, etc. None of us know.

The issue here is that everyone (including me) is "generalizing" and comparing dyno numbers. Dyno numbers are specific to the car, the dyno itself, temp, atmospheric pressure, humidity etc. So now we know Vortech's dyno reads pretty low. That doesn't mean the car isn't making power. Maybe they set it that way to help them tune. We don't know. Dyno's are for comparing A to B on the same car, not a precise measurement of horsepower.

I bet if you took Ryan's, John's, and Jason's cars up to your Mustang dyno in Nor-Cal they would get better numbers, and similar to what you saw.

I know what my car puts down on a Dynojet right now, but when it goes to Vortech I fully expect to see 60-80 HP less on their baseline pulls.

ALRIGHTY THEN! Everyone take a deep breath. We are all family here and everyone is allowed to give an opinion. WOW, that is awesome that your dyno results showed 380's!!!!!!!!!! Nice numbers. Why my numbers on a Mustang Dyno (model/type unknown) only ran 400 RWHP with the blower..........I have no idea.

Ralph and Adam mentioned it to me and I believe in numbers, "DON'T MEAN CHIT"! Let the car and how it responds do the talking. This without a doubt is what I've learned, felt and experienced. In the two days since I've got my car back, I've been jaw dropping amazed at the difference. IMO people are going to put the numbers on paper, on video, on disk or on whatever in the light they want it be good/bad. Driving the car is the end to all ends. Again I was disappointed when I heard the numbers, but driving it ended any and all future possible disappointment.

Again it is hard to believe a Mustang Dyno showed a slightly modded SRT8 with 380ish RWHP and a blown SRT8 with 400 RWHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it wasn't the same dyno and I have no idea again if it is even the same make/model, but it is hard to believe even with the print out.

I'm not calling anyone a liar, but again numbers are numbers, just like dynos are dynos. Take it for what it is worth. I've learned in the future I'm going to tune my car, but the dyno numbers for me mean, "SHIT"! The track numbers and or pull on the road results will tell me the truth.

Everyone have a great Father's Day Weekend. MOMO and all you new father's enjoy your 1st F-Day in what I hope is many more to come.

And stupid crap like this is why I don't bother with tuning or dynos or any of this shit any more. I guess I'm too busy actually driving the damn thing. Have fun with the damn supercharger and don't worry I'll stay out of your threads and let Bud deal with it. Christ.

yeah he did, but at least i understood what he meant. i never interpretted what he wrote as those were THE numbers that resulted AFTER the s/c install...... for those of us who actually pay attention, *clears throat* dave, i understood those numbers to be BASELINE numbers.....

hint momo.....use the above mentioned term "baseline" to help the thick headed readers understand what is going on!!! lol

Like Adam said in general mustang dynos read lower. I meant no offense. But like I said my car has ran over 400 on a diff dyno and then ran the same 321. Again like ive stated before numbers mean 0. It is a tuning tool. If you want to compare its either on the street of 1/4 mile times. Ive personally seen cars that put 750 to the wheels on the roller run slower then cars that only have 500...Its about where they are built to run. A 750hp top end car might do 220 on the freeway but it might not make any power below 5k.

Also if you consider a drive line loss of about 15-17% 385 on a stock car would be to high. Thats only a 10% loss. stock at 425 with 15% loss would be about 360. This is what I would expect to find out of a stock srt. I know MOL's car ran 360 stock so it seems about right.

If you dont believe the numbers from vortech im sure someone with one would gladly line up with you :) We can test your 385 to the 400 they are getting. I say this all in good fun so please dont take it any other way.

Again I meant nothing personally against you. Please dont take it that way.
