Hi all. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to Columbus this weekend. But my left arm barely works and I can't do anything with it (I'm left-handed). Can't jack up a car, can't change wheels, can't lift nitrous bottles, can't turn a wrench, can't do squat. I might need help getting to Columbus too. I need to get doctor and spouse approval, but I'm working on it. I'm in Indy. I have no tow vehicle yet, and won't have one before this weekend.
Now THAT is what I call STAND UP Family/Friends right there. Way to go Cam and Erik. If I were there, I would most certainly be your pit crew Matt. Glad to know you and the wife are recovering. I have really, really, really been wanting to call you, but out of respect for you, I have not. Be well.
Matt, Ill help as well, I dont have a extra left arm but I can help with anything else! Hope you and the Miss's are feeling better.
Matt- My offers are still valid, BUT.....I need to see WRITTEN permission from both your doctor AND your wife. The only "double barrels" I want to see this weekend should be on engine blocks. I'm available as a crew member as well. I have blocked off Friday evening, and both Saturday and Sunday. Some have said that I'm pretty handy with tools. As cool as it would be to have you here, if you're at risk of making your injuries worse by coming/racing, then I would say wait until next year. It would suck, but it sure beats amputation.
Thanks all. MRI in the morning on my left shoulder. Depending on what they find I'll either try my best to get there, or give up the idea completely. Doctor yesterday with x-rays. Orthopedic Dr. today. MRI and more orthopedic Dr. tomorrow. Ear Dr. tomorrow as well. Most of the miscellaneous painful spots are healing nicely, but my shoulder and ear are having issues. The blood mostly came from a deep laceration in my elbow. It suirted a lot of blood. I had to usee my right hand as a tourniquet around my left arm while waiting for emergency crews to arrive. I'll get better. Fair warning - I appreciate the attempts, but I currently have NO sense of humor. Thanks all.
Well that's no fun. You need better medication then. Well I can tell you from extreme experiance that time heals all wounds Matt. Even the ones you learn to adjust too. Here's to a speedy recovery!. :friends:
I hope JMatt can make it to Columbus. If Kevan is good enough to go out an get him and take him back, I can only offer to pay for Kevan's gas both ways. I really hope JMatt can make it and I will offer any help I can.
Thanks! Be careful with the offers though....it's a Viper engine after all. I'll post scans of the gas receipts in the Offensive section....where they truly belong. LOL Matt- I believe you still have my cell number from the Indy event that almost happened. It's on 24/7. Let me know as soon as you can so I can figure out some way to tell Rachel that I'm spending *another* weekend at the track.
I'll report back ASAP after tomorrow's MRI, but after some additional shoulder problems today, it's suddenly looking much worse..... :crying:
Keep us posted, if you need any help with the car prep I'll gladly stand around and watch everyone else at work :bye: Seriously - I'll gladly help Matt! Eric
