ORLANDO -- A man was killed in a deadly, two-car crash on South Orange Blossom Trail Sunday morning.

Troopers said Oscar Rivera of Orlando was heading north around 2:30 a.m., when he lost control of his car and ended up hitting a second car.

Both vehicles swerved off the roadway. Rivera's car overturned and hit a utility pole.

The driver of the second car had minor injuries.

    Very sad...

If memory serves me correct, parts of OBT has some pretty tight curves?

Yes, its a very dangerous road and busy road. Been on it numerous of times when I lived in Orlando.

Parts of it is only 2 lanes.

Why is it that the spoiler almost always survives?

Sits lower then the top (roof) of the car. Any direct impact will damage it though. Usually on roll over cases it doesn't even touch anything.

i know where that is, and the road way is not too bad. it is actually less than an 1/8th of a mile from my office...... that late, could be a lot of factors from sleep, racing, drinking, etc. very sad any way you look at it! i know that much of OBT in the south part of orlando, especially that intersection of OBT and Central Florida Prkwy is a friggin race track at those times in the early morning hours!!!
