Ok which heads Oh really. :supergay: Will have to give you a call sometime big boy:flowers: PM me info and specs and your recommendations steve Just want a little more power right now, gotta save $ for the Chally, but I want the wagon to be my Rustang killer.. and when they ask to see what's under the hood the see nothing but stock "LOOKING" engine
Right on!......my numbers is 1-800-bendover! :bye: Hey, the 268 is a great cam. That's what I ran for ever until recently. It works fine with stock springs. You will need to raise your idle to create enough vacuum to make hal happy. But the HHP stage one is nothing more then a 268 reground to a 117 LSA and works perfect without wierd idle issues. Talk to ya later sweety. :bigwink:
OK... here's my on-topic/off-topic question, which MAY actually assist this discussion for Moe's sake! What cam would be a good choice for a stock 6.1 with a Vortech blower? Would it be safe to consider this considering the stock bottom end, springs, etc.?!?!
http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6284 Spartan cam and standard valve heads in a 300C SRT8. This might be a good combo for you as well. Jacob
FYI Most of the aftermarket cams out there for a SRT you do not have to change the springs.Including the Comp 268 and the Spartan.Expect to see 20rwhp on the Comp The spartan cam and a set of Stus standard valve heads saw 450ish RWHP...
Yes. This is from the other thread and what litiGator said after his install and tune: I just had the car CMR tuned. If you've been following along, I had Inertia CNC ported, stock-valve heads and a Spartan cam installed last weekend. Mike at Inertia sent me a pretty good tune which I've been running all week, with no problems. Today, we put the car on the dyno (dynojet/mustang dyno) and it put up around 420hp and 400 lbs of torque. Pretty respectable numbers. They tinkered with some stuff and made another pull. WOW!! This time it put out about 440hp and 425 lbs of torque!! That's the only alterations I needed, the car was running really strong and the numbers are great. I'm very happy right now.
lol..I know I helped install is goodies at my house.Matter of fact that is my street we tore up in that video..His car runs sweet.
Hey Moe, give your boy a shot at it... A couple of question first... Is this for road and track or for strictly racing? I have several cams I could mention to you... We have a road warrior cam for daily driving and good numbers at the track We have a track warrior cam that is great for everyday driving and performance at the track Or we have the race warrior cam the give those record breaking numbers.. It all depends on where you want to go.. Jay
My choices and put in order of member opinions from what I have read and seen: 1: PPP Stage II 2: FRI Street Heads 3: HHP Stage II Mind you, I think the differences are very small.
Are you inquiring if my conclusion is based on my order or the fact the differences are small? My order seems to be based on what I read on 4 forums about pleasure with the gains. no more / no less The difference being small is sort of negotiable because someone may want 5 hp more. This is not saying some head may make more. Oh yea....FRI and HHP are almost swappable in position.
So you want a set of heads that have yet to be one of the fastest at the track with the exception of either Jeremy's car or forced induction or juice??. If you'll take a real good look. The fastest NA cars are HHP's, Inertia, Fri. Now if we're racing dyno's................well :dumb:
hey... I had Fri and HHP in 2nd and 3rd with a very close flip on the postion. I am only 1 off. HHP Stage II has been around the longest of the group and BES does do good work. I just thought PPP work was starting to prove itself.
Actually Inertia has been out the longest with FRI in second......well......Indy has been out longer but those heads stink IMO.
