Has anyone else converted their SRT to the kid shuttle/family taxi?

If so, any suggestions for stuff to carry in the car or modifications to make to the car to better accomodate smaller, sometimes itty bitty passengers?

Fortunately I already have Zoomers, which serve a dual purpose of putting her to sleep and helping her pass gas. :stars: :baby:

I've just been so busy with mommy-duties that I haven't really had the presence of mind to think of things I might need for future road trips/excursions with Maddy.

All the same stuff you'd normally need with a baby like Jon said (and here's a huge X2 on the shop vac, lol!). Are your windows tinted? That's a must (those suction cup shades are for the birds). I also had the rear dvd put in so you might want to look into that too.

Hmm, I'd like to delay bringing a boob tube into my car. Guess I'm old fashioned that way. I got the rear windows/windshield tinted to limo tint (20%) a couple of years ago, so I have that covered. Trying to avoid the window screens and "baby on board" placards.

I sold my kids to get my SRT ...:grin: so I do not have any suggestions to help you with... :erm:

actually keep the SRT for the weekend toy and frustration relief, and get another car to tote the little tyke around town in.. then if she is really, really good you may just take her in the go fast car...

Eh, I can't really justify another car at this point. Most all my errands are within two miles and my hubby's car is a Lexus and he actually feels better about me driving her around in the Charger because its bigger and handles better than his little compact. Its paid for, so I figure why not use it as the family car. At least until Marc trades the lexus for a minivan.

I totally agree on the boob-toob thing Tam it's just for loooooooooong road trips, it's a must. Same with any hand held video games. I know, I know, the missus and I had/have every intention of limiting that crap for our kids but when it comes to road trips all bets are off, kids can only read a book or sleep for so long before all hell breaks loose, lol!! We took one trip up to Oregon without anything like that and it was the longest trip of our lives!!!!!!!!!! Tam, trust me, it's ok to have that stuff in the car, ok for them and more importantly OK FOR YOUR SANITY!!!!!!! Lol!

Lots of good stuff there, thanks!

Yeah, putting this off as long as possible.

Lots of good ideas... I remember how my mom's new camry lasted all of four months before my brother managed to "break it in." She was not happy as it was her first new car ever. :stars:

Yeah, I hear you. To this day my uncle reminds me of the time he drove with me down to Florida (I was four) and I kept asking "are we there yet?" I'm still amazed he had children after that!

Ah well, guess I'll start ponderng what they'll watch in the car...when I do get around to installing a system...someday...granted if I do, Marc will probably go back there with them. When I first got the car his complaint was that there was no rear DVD system like in the RT we test drove first.

Always carry an extra blanket, bib and change of clothes just for the car. You should always have that in the diaper bag as well along with the other goodies.
