So I tried to put the new CROM file on my predator...but half way through it stopped and said "download failed"....now the predator wont let me do anything...and it just says "The application is missing or corrupt." How can i get my Predator to work agian?
im guessing your hooked up to your pc? if so, kill the process in control manager, then reopen and try the transfer again. if that doesnt work, i would download the file again.
did that....but when you try to install the file on the predator and it asks you to "cycle" the power...before it can turn on it says the error message i got did all that lol...thats why im stumped lol
hmm, the only thing i can think of is an open program is halting the file transfer or the download and giving you a partial file that youre transferring to your predator. have you tried to dl the file in safe mode? or transfer it in safe mode?
theres a "safe mode" on the predator?.... the problem isnt my computer...its that the predator will not let me do ANYTHING lol... anytime i try to turn it on to do anything (like re install the new update) it just gives me an error code "The application is missing or corrupt." then i can only choose "continue" where it restarts the predator...which eventually goes back to the same error message leaving me in an infinite loop of crap hahaha so my question is how do i get the predator to allow me to send the update file to it so it works again
hmm i see. so this comes up when you hook it up to your ride not the pc. if thats the case, the only thing i can think of is to reset the unit. there has to be a way to do it. youre prob gonna have to send it in for them to open up and reset.
I think Steve said it says something to the effect of "application not found" when you power the predator. Sounds like maybe downloading the firmware (CROM) went bad and now the bootstrap program doesn't find valid code in PROM (the "application") to start executing. I'm afraid it sounds like it might be RMA time. Keep your fingers crossed. Hopefully you haven't written a tune to the car yet? or if you did, you did a "restore Original Backup" before trying the CROM update? I'm pretty sure they wont allow a CROM update if the tool is "married" to a car? If not you're going to need additional help from Diablo. If you managed to get into this predicament the reset or new predator will object because it doesn't find a "stock" tune in the car and thinks another predator is already married to he car (no wife swapping allowed). They can get you a special CROM or set up your (fixed) predator to resolve that dilema.

OK, simply connect the Pred to the PC, open DSDL and put it in Legacy connection under options, then send the crom file to the Predator, and it should fix it right up. Only other issue may be if you downloaded the file wirelessly, it may have missed something, so maybe try redownloading it before applying the update again. Thanks Mike
