No new ECU or TCM........just like I thought...a tighter 2800rpm stall converter.

It still allows a quick 2800 stall without all the drama of the Torque Management taking over or going into 2nd gear. The Jeep totally launches and the cam still comes on strong. The strong shifts are back and the rear end clunking from the trans downshifts are completely gone!

Joe at ProTorque is excellent to deal with, and stands by his word and the guys at Overbys Transmission and Differential in Brea had it done in a day and delivered it back just as clean as I dropped it off! They even replaced my starter that had just burned out before I delivered it to them.

So much for needing a tune....and drama!

When I installed the 426 I needed to prime the engine.......I used the starter to turn it over and get the oil pump primed. It took a while and between that and the battery charger it fried 80% of its life right out of it!

I have to tell you, it is a night and day difference and it really launches now!

Very cool Steve. But keep in mind something. When they did this, they disconnected the battery which reset the TCM adaptives. So as long as you don't make any tune changes and you hit the track and it doesn't happen again. I'll be super impressed.

Either way, congrats on getting that POS out of there. There is nothing worse then a loose highstall for around town driving.
