Nice! I see your new AFE CAI is a little too long as well. I think they mis-measured where the connector was supposed to be compared to the original ones.

1K is only $1600 under the price of a complete 392 forged rotating assy. for a 6.1L

I don't really blame anyoe for buying one, cause it is a bolt on worth a good HP gain. And it looks real nice.

Finally got to the dyno today. Im on my way out the door but here is a screen shot of the dyno results. I labelled the pulls for what the situation was.

I did the pulls in this order:

    90mm w-adaptives
    90mm fresh tune
    stock TB fresh tune
    90mm 2 fresh tune

This is pretty interesting aint it.

Not surprising (good thing you got it for free). Without opening the manifold inlet I'd expect no improvement and possibly some degradation (which appears to be the case). With the stock TB you're getting a smooth flow. I suspect that with the 90mm you're getting a smooth flow until it runs into the front edge of the smaller inlet which creates some bad turbulence?

i guess this just lends more validation to the need for matching the manifold to the opening of the tb......

Soo no real noticeable diff for 1K? No thank you; id rather take the money and invest in a S/C or a stronger rear end. But thats just me; at least you got it for free!

Actually there is a noticeable diff. He lost about 5 hp and as much torque.
But I THINK he has the stock intake without having opened the inlet to match the 90 mm TB.

My intake manifold has been ported but not port matched. There is still a significant lip, probably about 2.5mm. Ill address this in the near future. I just thought Id post up my comparison results for ya'll to discuss.

The dyno a/f wasnt working so I had to use my wideband. Here is the a/f data in the same order as I listed above.

Well crap... we thought it was like a contest and you were going to give us the correct answer after a while.:eek:oh:

That is fascinating though. I guess if it changes radically after you port match it to the TB then we'll know. When's that going to happen?
