Any venomous snake near me is too damn big as far as I am concerned.

To put things in perspective about impressive venomous snakes......this is a Gaboon Viper, showing its fangs

Actually, Despite the whole idea of snakes representing biblical evil..... Snakes and other reptiles make great pets, especially for those people who are allergic to pet dander. They also can NOT pass any diseases to humans, closest they could come is salmonella. They have longer life spans then the majority of mammals people keep as pets. The carnivorous reptiles don't need daily attention like mammals do. Also, Snakes give the best neck massages!!!

got a snake for my boy last year and it died within 6 months. Poor thing, my son cried for about 20 min when we buried him. I think their great pets. Easy to take care of and fun to feed. :)

Those are gorgeous snakes that you have.

I love snakes, I brought home a King California Snake when I was still living with my parents but my mom made me give him up. I have been wanting one but it is just talking my husband into.

When I was younger there was a green snake (I'm not sure the kind) that would just curl up and lay accross your glasses and he would just stay there for hours.

I agree with you on that.

My friend used to have to pythons and they used to curl around my neck all the time. They were the sweetest things.

Another advantage to snakes over mammals, smaller teeth!!! majority of all non venomous snake bites will just be pin pricks that only bleed for a few seconds, unlike a dog or cat that can rip and tear flesh away....Lizards on the other hand would be the same as cats and dogs but still with smaller teeth. Snakes also have no limbs therfor no scratches!!
