The thread title might be a little harsh, but it's true. The Bedrug is actually well-built, easy to install (unless you decide to re-attach the bed cleats), and really 'finishes' off the bed of the truck. Here's where it fails miserably: Are you f-ing kidding me? A big, nasty MELTED-IN warning label on the tailgate pad?!!!? On Keith's yellow truck, it's not too terrible. On my black truck, it would look like a gigantic zit. "What does the label say?" It says EXACTLY what the warning stickers at gas pumps tell you: "....may generate a spark due to static electricity..." Yep...all ready to deliver a truckload of FAIL. Sorry Bedrug, but you lost a customer. All because of a stupid little unnecessary overly-redundant warning label.
didnt want to do a spray in?...i love my spray in liner and it looks great...and for you having a black truck you wouldnt even be able to see it most likely but have an "armor plated" bed
Paint cracks/chips/scratches and it would slowly look like crap. Besides, it's the principle. Now, if they offered a $100 credit toward getting the label covered over by an embroidery shop or something of the sort, I'd think about buying one. As of today, I'll spend my money elsewhere. Spray-in is nice (that's what Keith had before), but the Bedrug really is much nicer....save for that dumbass label.
never heard of this bedrug thing you speak of....what i always hate is hte drop in bed liners (which i can already see by how you descibe it, this is much better than those) is water getting under it and messing up the bed (my truck isnt exactly a show truck hahaha)
I'll try to put it in terms you can more easily grasp, Markus: Imagine this super-buff guy, all shaved and oiled up, just back from his cover shoot for Men's Health magazine........as you're removing his thong, you find a vagina.
They don't show the warning label on their website (nor do any dealers): http://www.bedrug.com/experience/ Here's a pic from one of their dealers sites: Wouldn't you be pissed if you ordered something expecting it to look like what's on the manufacturers website or in their brochure, then when it's delivered you got a big chunk of yellow down in the corner? I'd be livid. Keith handled it much better than I did.
check and see if billet tech can make a cover to replace it, kinda like they do our warning labels in our visors.
its really gay that they don't have that on their site, or at least let you know that itll be there.. but don't be mad at bedrug, they are just covering their ass's.. thank the ignorant, sue happy morons of america, that would end up catching their truck on fire. they need to have the warnings BIG and out in the open or some idiot would light the truck on fire and claim they didn't see it. seems like an easy fix though.
Well it not being on the pic on there webpage makes me mad so they will get a BIG e-mail tomorrow from me. other than that i love it it looks great and fits very well. i do have it on top of my line-X spray in.
1. If I wanted a quilt, I'd call your mom. 2. "Come on everybody; we've got quiltin' to do...."
It's humor, Steve. Go with it. (although #2 is a little obscure) Plus, it's not my bedrug. I just helped install it. The first post in this thread states that I WILL NOT be purchasing one.
hahaha i know buddy im just messing with you guys! haha... just as a question...why did you choose to go w/ the bed rug over say a Spray in liner?
