OK, after talking to the dealership in Merced (sheesh), I need to find a place to get a service. Anybody got any recommendations between Sacramento and Merced?

Have you been to Merced? I don't trust much of anything here, lol. I'm here on a 13 week work contract and wont ask for an extension.

I want to take it to someone with experience with the SRT8 and spotting areas of concern for these Jeeps. It is apparent to me that they are unique in their issues and I want a mechanic that is familiar with them. Something tells me that the area Jiffy Lube doesn't fit that profile. Also, I never really asked for a "dealer" rec.

oh yeah, ive been "through" merced many times. i was born and lived in sac most of my life.

what are you looking to accomplish bringing it to a dealer or other service spot? if you just want a type of check out thing done, a dealer would be fine. the best one ive heard of around the bay area/sac is in concord. lithia dodge to be exact.

I do have some rattles and such, but I think it is kinda normal from what I've read. Wouldn't hurt to let a seasoned ear listen. Really just need a service. I took it to Jeep dealership and they treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about when I told them the type of oil it required. I had to get my original work order for my 3000 mile service and it still took a panel discussion for them to figure it out. I am sure they are more than capable of doing the service, but I don't think I want them touching it. I am willing to drive a little to get it done. Call me anal, but.....

naw dude, i completely understand. if it has to do with your suspension, i would take it down to the local dms dealer in concord.

lol, I have a buddy that spent some years in MERCED...He calls it MERDEAD...lol quite the life they live out there. But hell if it was me I would shoot and get some oil and a filter and hit up a nice part of town whether it be Jiffy Lube or whatever, just make sure you get the Mobil 1 and the Mopar filter and watch everything they do...
