    New custom cmr tune

I went to see Scott today at GSM to get an updated custom Cmr tune. He found a few things in my old tune that needed adjusting. The temp was 84 degrees and the DA was 1825 ft. The 1st pull was with no adjustments and was 357.00 hp and 366.20 tq. After spending about 2 hrs going over everything he did a 2nd pull and with some adjustments we pulled 362.80 hp and 376.46 tq. 3rd pull was with an A/F adjustment but the jeep was heating up so no changes. The biggest gain was at 4000 rpm with a 20 lb gain in TQ. I am pleased with his tunes and will be heading out to Irwindale to make some runs to see how the changes helped in the 1/8 mile but ill wait till it cools off as last thursday the da was 3500 ft.

what exactly is a "custom cmr preditor tune"? trying to understand cmr and predator in the same sentance.

Thats just what i call it. Ill change the wording to make every 1 happy. Not sure what the exact term is as we all use different names. I no the difference between a 4 to 6 hr cmr tune and hand held tune with a preditor. Scott said were going to do a cmr tune this time after going through my folder and spent about 2 hs going over every thing before he did the next pull. As long as the jeep cuts a trail im happy with his tunes.

It sounded right to me. Here's why.

CMR is the software tool for tuning/producing custom tune files.
Predator is the handheld tool for flashing the car and logging. It also has a limited ability for tuning/producing custom tune files. The Predator also comes packaged with some more generic custom tunes/tune files.

Tunes that were packaged with or originated on the Predator are commonly referred to as "Predator tunes".
Tunes that were produced with the CMR software are commonly referred to as "CMR tunes". Certainly the CMR software has the ability to produce tunes identical to those packaged with the Predator.

It would be presumptious to assume that tunes produced with the CMR software can ONLY be flashed to the car using a Predator. The CMR software may have the ability to produce images that can be flashed to the PCM using a Starscan or other tools or even something that can burn a PCM directly instead of over the bus.

So when Jim says "Custom CMR Predator tune" I know that he has a tune produced by the CMR software, that is not the same as the packaged tunes, to be applied to the car using a Predator. Follow-on assumption is that Jim also owns a Predator.

    How's that

I think our last "COOL FRONT" was this past Friday night it hit 95 yesterday and we were out on the lake all day then came back and swam all evening and I'm toast. I heard it was 100+ in Ariz and Nevada already-uggh.
