imagine the looks you would get with that bad boy sticking out the top of your hood steve. damn, you would be the most talked about suv in CA.
Let me just say you won't be the first...LOL:bigwink: I totally agree....Stay tuned. 4-6 weeks (or so) there will be some very suprised people.
was the initial set up done on a stock 6.1??? was that a stock 6.1 burning off the tires in the video???? just curious as to what boost levels that was running and how it would behave on a stock 6.1 motor w/o forging, etc. looks pretty impressive!!!
is 10 psi of boost safe for a stock bottom end??? i can't remember if it said anything about an intercooler??? how tough of an install???? if i can remove the intake, can i handle the rest?? lol are these units actually available, or are they still in development??? from looking at the pulley, am i correct in assuming the s/c is constantly running, even in traffic??? just curious. looks like a nice set up!!
No i don't run that boost normally on a standard motor, these are our test motors and we need to know how they perform and what can fail. that system was intercooled but the first wasn't. Kits are super easy to fit and only takes a day to do the main part and about a day on the dyno etc. they are available and we have 5 kits currently being fitted in the states at the moment. it's constantly running but the idle bypass valve bumps the boost when cruising
who fits them in the US????? also, what are your recommendations for stock 6.1 owners as to your current offerings, i.e intercooled, boost, etc. as for the constant running, any issues with long term effects of the system constantly engaged, or are your tests to soon to tell??? i hear people running clutch mechanisms that allow for the compressor to be off while at idle, say when you are stuck in traffic. thanks for your feedback!
Maybe I didn't see this but who is selling this kit in the U.S. for you??? I might want on for a 5.7L
No need made. At idle they make no boost-1psi max. Deinitely nothing that woudl harm a 5.7-6.1L. The best kit to get is the full package which comes with blower/manifold/intercooler kit/fuel injectors/rails/boosta pump/CAI. There are also tuner kits if you want to do it yourself and RDP can definitely poiint you in the right direction. They have been running now since Feb and as far as I know there have been no issues.
