So tonight one of my co workers said something to me that i just cant wrap my head around...

he said that one of his friends is a master mechanic with 40 years experience...

apparently he found out that to cut down on the price of oil...they are cutting out adding in a small amount of oil to the gas you will get at the gas station....them taking this oil out will apparently "damage" American cars engines and make them die now faster than imported cars...he also claims that if you get 2 tea spoons of honda 2 stroke engine oil and add it to your gas tank every fill up...it will replace this oil and make it run normally...

this guy has little to no sense of humor, so this was not him trying to be funny...this was something he believes to be true...

I can not in any way figure out how that could effect our engines and not imported cars engine if it is fact going on...

    any comments on this?

The guy has ABSOLUTELY no IDEA what he is talking about.

And if ANYONE takes his advise and puts oil in their gas, then they deserve to pay for the damages it will cause. lol

i really put some thought into what he said...tried me BEST to find any way shape or form that it could have one ioda of truth to it...and i just could not see how that could have been true...

he said that the oil from the gas would lubricate the engine and taking that oil out would cause engines to wear down faster...

if thats what constitutes a "master mechanic" then i must be the yoda of mechanics...and real mechanics must be on a whole different level hahaha

Is he driving a 2-stroke jet ski or dirt bike to work? Did he rig up a land-sail rig with a leaf blower for power? Maybe we're all assuming its a 4-stroke gasoline engine. Which if it is a 4-stroke gasoline engine, that's a load of bullsh*t.

Ask him if you should add a little gas to your oil next time you change your oil?

Let's see here. I bought and installed a catch can to keep from burning about 2 teaspoons of oil every tank of gas.....

Just a comment and food for thought. A lot of the SRT8 owners that I know (myself included) have installed catch cans to capture oil from the PCV from going into the intake. Fuel does have an effect on top cylinder lubrication. When lead was removed from gasoline engines needed to have hardened seats because of Lack of protection the lead gave between the valves and seats. So I think it is safe to say that lubrication in the top cylinder is being more than adequately taken care of thru the PCV system. All engines newer than oh say 1972 have hardened seats.

 everyone is trying to come up with ways to save on gas or come up with an alternative. More like rumors.

Funny thing I heard at one of my previous jobs is that somewhere in the US some students are running used french fry oil from fast food resturants in a vehicle as an alternative to fuel and that it actually works. Imagine that lol. I have to see it to believe it.
