Chris, IMO Eibach is too late. That guy on the red site has posted about having springs and QA1s. The ability to adjust to firm for everyday driving and soft for drags racing is the complete package. Also since he is using a QA1, I imagine if you wanted a killer setup, you can go with double adjustable.

Hate to say it but QAI is junk....they are right in my back yard. I actually got offered a job there, but didnt want to promote a product I didnt think was of a certain quality.

Who is the guy working on a setup for a jeep, whats it consist of?

Dustin, I hear your opinion but can you expand beyond the just the opinon. I have had HAL shocks on 2 Mustangs, QA1 on Lightning and Cobra. I never had a problem with them and they outlasted the time I owned the vehicles. Both the Cobra and the Lightning were very front heavy and I was actually able to improve the push quite a bit on a road course. In my opinion just the fact that they are rebuildable is a big plus over a Tokico or Koni. Like you I have my reasons, QA1 was top notch to deal with over the phone and they really helped me to tune my Lightning suspension. We also used QA1s on my brothers 7 sec drag car, they worked fine until the front suspension was upgraded to SANTUFF.

    Here is his setup

I hear you John but until we know exactly what we need that thread is useless. I dont want to be the one experimenting with QA-1s that are 400 bucks a piece.

I would call QA1 and see what they say about the kits, but apparently its a "custom" kit that this guy is working on. Which would lead me to believe its not going to work. Unless he is some suspension guru then his time is useless. To determine a perfect or better setup for these trucks you are going to need, at the least, a shock dyno and spring rater. I am guessing he is not equipped with that stuff....maybe though. I also like how he says that moving the springs out further on the rear end is a must for these trucks. Actually what moving the springs out further does is make the truck act totally different, not better, just different. Which will cause everyone to relearn how to drive their truck. The leverage point changes therefore you have to play around with springs, the amount of testing it takes to get stuff like that perfect is way beyond what he thinks it is. Double adjustable shocks are great...that is if you know how to use them. Again a lot of testing needs to take place to actually understand what the shocks are capable of.

John I apologize, QA1 isnt necessarily junk, they just arent up to par. On a street car they would probably work just fine. I know they have been working on some new stuff, so maybe they have something I havent seen yet. I know guys that run their stuff and it seems to work alright. For a street car they would most likely work alright, because anybody with a little knowledge can rebuild them.

I would say their valving is the main reason I dont like them.

I went and hung out with some of my drag buddies tonight and one of them was building a new car. He was putting a new setup that was made at QA1 and the stuff looked pretty good. It was a single adjustable setup, but when I asked him what the valving was or what kind of adjustments he could make, he didnt know. So I dont know if QA1 isnt releasing that information or if he just didnt know. But they told me that in the drag life, QA1 has built some pretty nice stuff. It was interesting to find out, because I never deal with drag stuff, and in circle track QA1 is pretty far behind, but after tonight I think they are aiming more towards the drag stuff, and are not very focused on the circle track industry.
