Hey guys! I just got a possible fix for the airflow compensation issues I'm having from the 90mmTB. Andy from PPP emailed me a tune file a couple days ago. But I have no idea how to open the file, and then get it into my Predator. I know this is pretty sophmoric, and I look like an idiot here. But I was hoping maybe you guys could help me. When I right click on the attached file in my Hotmail account it won't even open it. Any help is appreciated fellas. Chase
Double click on it and it will ask you if you want to SAVE IT OR OPEN IT, SAVE IT in my documents and DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME of it save it the way it shows up, then go to your DS Downloader and open it up, plug your Diablo into your computer and let it find your Diablo, then chose the option on the computer for send file to Diablo
Wifey is telling me windows won't open the type of file that it is. Might need them to send it to me in a different format or something.....I'm way illiterate on this stuff. Chase
Wade - I've got a desktop icon for DSDownloader, but no dataview? What do you mean? I'll forward the email now..... Chase
Okay I can double click on the attachement and then it scans it for viruses then the download attachment box pops up and I can click on that then it asks me if I want to save this file or find a program online to open it, I chose save then I chose to save to my documents and it works for me. You cannot chose OPEN at any point windows cannot open this tune file it can only be saved then downloaded VIA the DS Downloader and your handheld
Thanks Wade. I think I just did it. It downloaded within 3 seconds though? Shouldn't it take longer than that? It said the "tune file was identical to original backup file." WTF does that mean? Same as the stock tune? Sorry for being such a dipshit on this stuff. Chase
No it should not have said that, the download is quick though so 3 seconds is about right, now where did the message pop up on the computer or your diablo I hope the did not send back your original backup file instead of the CMR tune hey call me 254-715-8021
It popped up on the downloader screen on the computer. And yes, I hope they didn't send my my original backup tune either....but it sounds that way. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten that prompt. AAAARRGGGHHH!!!! Chase
Thanks a lot jaggass!!!! :censored: :ilovesrtc: Hey nice to see you over here Ace! I never bump into you here, it's always on the red site! Chase
I know, I feel kinda weird around here:shifty:... hehe, J/K! hey hows the charger after the 426 install? didn't see an update on the red site.
Lets take this about 1 step at a time and we can get it done. Okay, double click on the email attachment and select "Save". Save it to your desktop. What is the complete file name and extension? If the extension is .drg then it is the tune file. But what is the full name with extension?
Man I love it over here! By far my favorite home! Yeah, I haven't posted any pics and reviews yet, because I'm not "quite done" yet. Getting this tune finalized first, and then I have a new tq converter going on in the next few weeks. Then I will re-dyno and hit the track. Once I do that, I'll be able to give a muuuuuch better read on the whole deal, and I'll post some new pics. But initially......HOLY CRAP!!!! If this thing is this nasty now. Then after the tune and converter she'll be UNBELIEVABLE!!!! The full name is 05030232af-custom.drg. And it's now into my Predator. But the pop up screen said it's identical to my original backup file....confusing. Chase
Did you copy your "Original Backup Tune" file from the Predator to your pc before you started this? Are you loading the CMR tune over your existing performance tune settings in the PCM or did you install your original backup file to the PCM then try to load the CMR? Does PPP have a copy of your original backup tune file? Is this what they started from or did you already have an adjusted Predator tune that they worked from? Be careful with the tune files, the file name 05030232af.drg is the "Original Backup Tune" name, and I would keep a compressed copy so you never loose it or copy over it, maybe also copy and rename with "-original" after the "af' in the filename. Don't forget to keep the ".drg" on the end when you rename. It does not matter what comes after the "af" in the file name but it MUST start with the "05030232af". That is why you have "-custom" on your CMR tune, so it is not confused with the original. If PPP sends you more than one tune during this process, you may want to save each tune by renaming them "-custom1", "-custom2", and so on.. then keep notes on what each tune was for.
listen to nathan, he has it perfect!!!! i saved all my tunes to my computer so i would have them no matter what!!!
Great information Nathan!!!!! I had to do the same thing with GS and you explained it correctly the trick is getting your original stock tune file to the the PC and then using the DS Downloader to install the custom tune. Me too and also Burned to CD Good luck Chase, that 426 should be a monster!
