BTLFED has headers and I think I remember him telling me he see's high knock you may be onto something
The headers and knock sensors could be a possibility but theres no way it would cause the timing to be that high. You need to take some major timing out of that thing and then your KR will come way down. Your base timing shouldn't be anywhere above 20 on 100+ shot of nitrous. You should get Daves opinion on that. The only way I see it being possible for your timing to be so high is from letting off the gas after the run. There is just no way you were running 25+ degrees of timing with no KR at WOT.
Do you have a line graph of the run? I would like to see the numbers throughout the run and not just a screenshot of the gauges at a certain rpm.
I am confused between the 2 KR's....KNK ST Retard and KNK LT Retard...Maybe I monitor the wrong one ...I think I monitor KNK ST Retard...and should there be any KR at all...is any KR acceptable
I have Longtubes and I think they are effecting the knock sensors but I cannot be sure. On some runs I have zero knock retard, on others I have 2 and Ive seen as high a 8. All on the same stretch of road, same tank of fuel and same temps just minutes within each other. Before you say vehicle got hotter, the highest KR wasnt recorded when vehicle was hottest. I suppose the vehicle temps could make things vary but Im not 100% convinced on that. I have a tune with 26 degrees timing and did have knock retard, my best ETs and Dyno numbers seem to be with a max timing of 24-24.5 right before the shifts. His 33 degree picture was on decelleration, I will bet money on it. Its also why he had 0 KR :smart: Chris- I dont remember if you have posted but what is the max timing youve seen ? You want my timing, I want your shift point. hint hint Dave :miner:
I just took a look at the datalog you sent me and its way too long to tell whats going on. I would need to know between what times you were at WOT. It would be easier to only datalog the WOT run from start to finish, maybe 10-15 seconds total. Yours is over 2 minutes with what appears to be lots of partial throttle cruising, some idling and a little WOT mixed in.
Sorry, the 1/8 mile WOT is from :35 sec to :43 sec. I could not figure out a way to chop off all the other data. That is the 7.5 secs to examine. Is there a way to setup the Predator to only log at WOT?

Ok thats much better info. I am seeing like 6 degrees of KR on that run:erm:. Your base timing looks fine around 20 but your actual timing is ~13 throughout the run. It is pulling a lot of timing from KR. The main questions to answer are: 1. How hot was the jeep? 2. What fuel are you running? 3. What was your AF during that run? Something is definitely not right here.
1. Never got hot. Oil & coolant temps stayed low. Oil probably 185 & coolant the same to start each run. Cool night and good cool down time. 2. Shell Pump 93 Octane 3. I believe with the Predator you want to monitor KR ST. You shouldn't see any long term and you kind of only want to see short term right at shift points and when you lift and maybe when you first mash the pedal. On the DashHawk you can set 2 additional parameters to log during a 1/4 mile perf test. You could select spark advance and KnR. That would give you RPM, speed, timing and KnR. I'm not sure if you can fire off the "tree" while moving. I know if you "red light" it still logs everything. For the DashHawk data logging I use KnKRtd SpkAdv Load (or TB Pos) RPM Current Gear (actually kind of nice to have on the graph although it can be deduced) You can extensively edit the DH graphs to crop just the portion you want, scale individual items or have it look any way you want. I would pull 1 degree of timing in the 1k-3.8k table (both tables) I would pull 3 degrees of timing in the 4k-4.8k table (both tables) I would pull 4 degrees of timing in the 5k-7k ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ now after you do this and load it drive around for a bit for it to reset and then do at least 3 back to back datalogs and see where your A/F and KR at at then, it took me 3 hours one day of running, logging, tuning and calling BTLFED every 5 minutes(Thanks Bro)-LOL
You need to either pull a butt load of timing or run race fuel. Personally I run race fuel, not only for added insurance but it lets you take advantage and make more power. Did you get my email and Datalog ?
If you dont have a shop around that will sell you race gas, go to your local airport and run straight av-gas, its around 100 octane.
