kenny bell becuase you need boost to make the MSD one work. Or atlest that what I remember when I was looking before I got my kenny bell. I have not had a problem with it. Why not just get the walbro 255 pump I think thats what the jeep guys are doing. I am looking in to it now
Eric, I'm thinking about a separate fuel system for the direct port Nitrous and leaving the stock system as is for my 426. Would that not work for your build? Bill
Kenne Bell imo..... Too much trouble with MSD products lately. And Dave aka Gilgamesh has the MSD one and blows fuses all the damn time, kind of annoying.
Why don't to go to a better fuel pump? Walbro 255. I feel the Boostapump is a bandaid. Problably will be using seperate fuel system for N2O and also Will be looking at presure regulators and cutoffs.
Everyone puts them in their F-Bodies. I have one in my Z28. I heard the Viper pump might work in our basket. Walbro is 255 liters per hour. Don't know what I'm going with for sure yet. http://www.bmcspeedshop.com/product_p/lrs-9350e.htm http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showpost.php?p=99900&postcount=11
If you go the boostapomp route, it has a vacuum switch (or boost switch). However, you can simply short the circuit, at the track, and guarantee the boostapump is working without wondering about the vacuum signal triggering the pump. I threw out the vacuum switch, and just dial the pump up at the track.
I run the Kenne Bell one in mine. I only use it for the single fogger kit and it is wired to come on when I arm the nitrous. I am running a seperate fuel system with twin Aeromotive regulators, Aeromotive pump, and a custom 4 gal fuel cell in the trunk for the direct port system.
The Viper Pump is a Walbro 255. The hard part is getting the old one out without breaking the tabs that hold it in the basket.
Check out this thread it says 179 @ 59psi and has pics of the 255 going in the basket http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4685&page=2
Thanks Al......I think I am just going to do the Boost-a-pump and the stand alone fuel system for the spray.
If you do a stand alone for the spray you will not need a boost-a-pump. You will need an inline for the stand alone system though. Hit me up E, I have what you need.
