    Brakes:
While the SRT-6 has great brakes from the factory, the pads provide termendous amounts of dust. The current pad of choice is the Rotex Gold Pads for almost dust free wheels and stopping ability. Several also use the Porterfields with great results. I don't think the Porterfields will match the Rotex Golds for dust reduction, but they should out stop them.

    Rotors:
Factory rotors are solid disks. Upgrading to the drilled or drilled and slotted rotors will help dissapate heat.

    Brake Lines:
Stainless Steel lines will help reduce pedal sponginess that rubber lines can have under hard braking.

    CAI's:
I'm using the BDJ's twin tube intake. The factory air boxes are very restrictive in all area's of their design. This intake has been dyno'd to show an increase of about 30 HP to the wheels over the stock setup.
The Needswing intake uses a single tube but places the filter in front of the radiator, directly behind the grill for optimal air intake. This intake also increase about 30 HP on the dyno.
The SL55 intake is a larger version of the SRT-6 intake and helps with airflow while still retaining some of the factory look.
All three of these CAI's should yield a result of between 25-30 to the wheels on a stock SRT-6.

    Crank Pulleys:
The ASP pulley, Evosport, and Renntech pulleys come in 178mm. The LET pulleys are available in 178mm, 181mm and 185mm. Bigger mm means more boost, but also more heat. For the 185mm, a larger Heat Exchanger is recommended. Although not required, an ECU tune is also recommended with a pulley upgrade. The Crank pulley increases the speed of all the items connected to the belt. Usually a smaller water pump and sometimes a power steering are used so these accessories will not over spin.

    SuperCharger Pulleys:
The S/C pulley replaces the small pulley at the S/C making only the S/C spin faster, and not the rest of the items running off the belt system. Like the crank pulley, more boost means more heat, so a larger Heat Exchanger should be added. A Custom Tune is also recommended.

    Spacers:
These help reduce heat transfer. They are placed between the S/C and the intake runners. Tempature drops of 80 to 100 degrees can be seen. Lower air temps means less loss of HP under boosted conditions.

    Plugs and Wires:
As the miles increase, these upgrades should be done.

    ECU Tunes:
While the price of a TUNE varies greatly from one company to the next, to me, none have shown to have any great increases in performance. The lowest priced tune is showing about the same results as the highest priced tunes. Most are seeing about a 20HP increase, but dyno results are very limited. Breaking into all the factory codes seems to be a problem that everyone is having.

    Headers:
Headers from LET should be good for 15-20 HP, but-----the engine has to be lifted from the motor mounts and tilted to get them installed. I'm not aware of anyone with any Crossfire that has these headers.

    Sprint Booster:
This little gizmo plugs in by the gas pedal and sends an amplified signal to the ECU to help reduce the factories drive by wire delay. Much quicker throttle response and faster downshifts.

    Heat Exchanger:
This looks like a small radiator that fits behind the front bumper. This will help the water to air supercharger's intercooler from heat soaking as quickly. When the intercooler heat soaks, the ECU will retard the timing and reduce the boost till the temps cool down. While this will not add any HP, it will help you from losing HP under hard driving.

    IC Pump:
This is a good upgrade when doing the H/E. This pump is a marine bilge pump that will provide a greater flow rate over the factory pump. Stock pumps are known to have a short life span. This is the pump of choice when upgrading or replacing.

    Suspension:
The Eiback Pro kit will help lower your Crossfire about 1.1" in the front and about 1.3" in the rear. Many are using this kit for the past three years or so with positive feedback.

Koni Yellow Shocks are adjustable when installed so that you can adjust your suspension in moments from a softer ride to a firmer ride with just the twist of a knob on each shock. At this time, I haven't heard from enough owners about these to say anything more.

First upgrade should be the CAI, Cold Air Intake. This is a simple mod to do that has about the biggest HP increase of any mod available to date. I'd recommend the Sprint Booster next if it wasn't done first. The next biggest power booster is the Pulley. The 178mm should give about 25 HP increase and the 181mm 30 HP. The big 185mm should be good for about 35 HP to the wheels. The H/E and IC Pump upgrade along with a low temp thermostat will help keep the intercooler temps from rising out of control and causing the ECU to retrard the timing and pull boost. The cooling upgrades are highly recommended with the pulley upgrade. Plugs and Wires might help everything run just a bit smoother, but HP increases are still undetermined. Going with a colder heat range plug and regapping is recommended with a pulley upgrade. Tuning the ECU: IMHO I think the tune should be the last item addressed after all the other bolt on mods are done. Tunes will only come down in price and get better results in the next coming months as more experience is gained. I wouldn't recommend any tune other than the lowest priced ones that are currently available. Exhaust upgrades are being developed currently and should be available in the next few months. A resonator delete is also an option. Any HP gained from this is still undetermined, but about 40 pounds of weight is saved.
The Schrick Cams will provide some HP increase, but at about $1800 or so for a set and then maybe 6 hours of shop labor to install them, they are the biggest dollar mod available. HP gain, maybe 10-15. Dyno's are to scarce to be accurate.

Better flowing intake runners, y pipes, and exhaust systems, better S/C cooling, and better plug and gap refinement will contribute to much better gains this coming year. I predict 400 WHP with bolt ons before the end of '08.

    1. CAI
    2. Sprint Booster
    3a. H/E
    3b. IC Pump
    3c. Intake spacers
    3d. 185 Thermostat
    4. Pulley
    5. Plugs/Wires
    6. Headers/ Exhaust
    7. ECU Tune
    8. Pumkin Upgrade
    9. Schrick Cams

    10. Throttle Body Port and Polish
    11. Intake Runner Port and Polish
    12. Supercharger Port and Polish
    13. Y Coupling Port and Polish

All the Port and Polish items are yet to be dyno'd to show any gains. They might be good for a couple HP each which would add up with everything else from about. The P & P is more time consuming to do than being overly priced. The Throttle Body should be good for about 4-5 Hp for about $125-150. The rest are still to be determined.

    Nice work Toy -

IMO - I wouldn't call the Sprint Booster a performance mod. A fun mod - maybe..?

I would order it this way:

    1. Larger Intake (or modify the stock intake)
    2. Heat Exchanger - IC Pump (prep for the pulley and higher IAT's)
    3. Pulley (go big)
    4. Iridium Plugs (reduce pre-detonation)
    5. Headers (if they can be made)
    6. ECU Tune (make 1-5 work at peak)
    7. Phantom Grip (put the new power to the ground)
    8. Springs (lower the CG and make it look sharp)
    9. Resonator Delete (make it sound right)

Then once your ready to bust into the engine

    10. Schrick Cams
    11. Throttle Body Port and Polish
    12. Intake Runner Port and Polish
    13. Supercharger Port and Polish
    14. Y Coupling Port and Polish

    Brian,
Your list is also very close to mine. I think the pulley-H/E-IC pump should be done all together. With any pulley you are going to heat soak if you run it hard at all. Even stock I've felt mine heat soak. When I've been on the track at either New Smyrna or Orlando speedway, after maybe two laps I can feel the power falling off when I was running all stock. By 4-5 laps it's really off on power from the heat soak. Even when I was in NC last Nov in 50 degree weather I could feel the power falling off.
I've got a HE on order along with the spacers and IC pump. I'm hoping to reduce the heat soak issue the best I can.
I think a good set of headers that would NOT require an engine bay dismantling to get them installed should be near or at the top of the list. Hopefully Needwings will be able to come up with an exhaust solution that everyone can live with and not be a fortune too. I'm hesitant to do the resonator delete myself as I like it quite for long highway trips with my wife. I could live with a little louder, but she would be bothered by it. And since no one has shown any performance gain, I'll wait on the delete for now.
I think before this year ends we'll have some SRT-6's dynoing at 400 plus to the wheels without going into the engine, only bolt on's.

I think another area that needs more focus is using a water meth injection set up. With the addition cooling properties that the w/m would give, especially with the 185mmm pulley, I think good gains for the $ invested would be gained.
An area that I think is still underdeveloped is the ECU tune. How can a box tune get the most out of these upgrades when they've never been dyno'd together. Until someone takes some of these combo's and dyno's them, pulls the ecu, tweaks it, dyno it again, tweak it some more and so on, HP is being left behind in the ECU. Thats my opinion!! Does anyone have a dyno sheet from the gains for an ecu tune on the SRT-6?

    More info to follow.

    Hi John -

In the ECU tune section I know that the InMotion tune is for just the ECU reflash. I think that most of the others include pulleys. Is this correct?

    Jeff,
You can get a pulley or a ECU tune seperately from anyone. Way back when Renntech and Evosport were about the only shows in town, they tried to always sell them as a package. Now days they are both priced way to high to give any consideration to.
For a pulley on a budget, I'd keep watch on the MB site as some of them are upgrading from a 178 to the bigger 185 pulley. That or the Code3 S/C pulley for $600.
