It is a funny thing putting together a very large event, until you have really spent the time and effort into doing so I am not sure you can appreciate just what it takes. As this event is currently structured and approved it will be a full Saturday of drag racing, from sun up until sun down, then a short drive to a car show at a location yet to be announced. There is a much larger addition to this event in planning and I hope to get it approved, but it will take much more sponsor involvement. I really have only been able to talk with three sponsors so far, not that I have been avoided in any way at all. It is just unfair to ask them to provide support to an event when I am not even sure what the final structure of that event will be. Kenyatta Goins at G.A.M.E has generously opened both their office and their staff to me. They are providing me with office space, conference room and help. They are also considering covering the five million dollar insurance coverage. Kenyatta has joined the www.yourclubs.net team as well so we may continue to grow our club support site. To date I have talked with Scott at; GS Motorsports , they going to provide some support. Scott at; Performance Research & Development (AKA "The HEMI Shop") , they are also going to provide some support. TommyZ and many others are only waiting for me to have all the info on the table so they may help as well. The SRT Connection has also been onboard helping this event move forward. 6Point1 aka “the same ol Bobf” has stepped forward to take the helm at getting the word out about this event. He is working hard at putting together an http://www.myspace.com/rumbleinthedesert2page even as we speak. FactoryD is working to put together all the web pages the major sponsor wants up prior to the event on December 15th. RevHammer has been on the phone keeping me sane as I work hard to put everything into place. Lxforums has been here to provide us all a place to come together and get this job done. I hope all here will take time to thank them for their involvement in our event. I will continue to list the rest of the sponsors as they come aboard so we can thank them as well. This is a fine start, but it is by no means near the finish line. I will have the final answer from our major sponsor as to just how big this event will be by Wednesday and all the paper work will be signed by Friday. If all goes as purposed the announcement of our major sponsors support will be made at the Assalt tour event on December 15th 2007.
