I don't understand the question. First "non canned", then "what sort of tuning?". A CMR tuner would know what's needed. Does this mean you're going to be doing your own "tuning"? If the cats give you better flow I suppose it could lean out your a/f a bit. Other than that you probably want to remove the rear oxygen sensors (don't disconnect them from the harness), strap them up under the car, put bung plugs in the holes and turn off the rear sensors with the Predator. That what you were looking for? And how in the world did you guys settle on hi-flow cats of all things? I'm guessing these fell off a truck and Ryan's people picked them up? Otherwise we would have had a month of Momo discussion about getting them beforehand.
Right on Dave...thanks for the explanation! What the hell are "bung plugs"? We've been discussing them for a while since they seem to be a good bang for the buck!
You will only need to add fuel Rick. I added 8, 5 and 5 with the 93 CAI tune. I didn't touch timing..every time we did we saw KR.
Not that kind... These would be too small for you guys but should fit the hole the sensors come out of. The o2 sensors look like a large spark plug. In fact, the right size spark plug should match the threads and if you find some old ones they would be cheaper than bung plugs which run about $5 apiece -- Momo could get another Mod to hang on the rear view mirror. A bung looks just like a threaded spark plug hole. A bung plug is a threaded cap to plug the bung hole. No, YOUR bung plug won't work 'cause it would melt. You want something made out of stainless. Use anti-seize on the threads. The rear narrowband sensors are only there to compare with the front narrowband sensors to monitor cat efficiency. If it doesn't jive (likely won't with the hi-flow cats) it thows a code. It's a "display" code only. The PCM does not take any action on it. You don't want it because it could be masking other, more important/urgent codes behind it. CEL is on and you figure there's no problem 'cause it's the cat code but there could be other codes behind it. The Predator will allow you to turn off the rear sensors. I'm pretty sure that turns off the heaters as well. While narrowband sensors are more robust than wideband sensors they will foul if not heated. Not a big deal if you never plan on using them again or if you don't mind replacing them when you do. If you don't care just leave them in there and turn them off. You don't disconnect them because, apparently, the PCM doesn't like seeing an open circuit there even when they're turned off. Something like that. Don't forget to have an extra bung (and plug) installed on the driver's side in front of the cat for the future wideband you're going to want. A nice wideband would be about the same price as the CMR tune? and then you could tune it yourselves and be set for future stuff too. If you need to add fuel because your hi-flow cats actually work then you're going to need a wideband to tell how much.
how the hell did i miss the load of shit!!!! get a mod named after you and then you can call yourself a "forum legend".......:shifty: wiat, hold on....... you are a legend momo....... how many guys get quoted in a "forum legends" signature...... dahahahahahahahahahahahaha
