Ok now we are on track, you have detonation. The Base is what the PCM would like to run in a perfect world, since you have KR of 1 degree, its pulling timing. I am curious as to why yours is listed a -, mine just has a # no + or -. Im usuing Dataviewer 3.1 and the Predator software version that came out after R20, cant recall the exact number.

Wait, Im logging Short Term KR and Long Term KR. You on the other hand are recording Total KR, since Im in Montana and my Jeep is in Texas, its easier for you to go out and log short term and Long term and see if it reads like mine. The Negative number means its pulling timing, and base being higher than #1 shows it.

I dont have the option for ST or LT KR. I only have total retard and max total retard.

What version of Dataviewer and what version of Predator ? I also suppose that the 06 GCSRT8 doesnt have that parameter in PIDs. On my software it can be found under PIDs,Misfire and you will see LT and ST knock. While 2.5 is nothing to be worried about, at least we figured it out.

Blown-WK, Use the Predator and remove 1 degree timing at the upper RPM break point . Also the B&G tune has the shift torque managment modified which can cause a KR spike right before the shift since timing is not being pulled to control TM, and also I have modified how much timing the PCM can remove in my calibration which is not as aggressive or the same as the stock calibration..Dave

Thanks Dave, glad you stopped by. What do you think about my AF? Should I pull 1% at the top?

Dave- I dont expect you to give any secrets away but can you explain as much as possible ? You can PM me is thats better, when you say you arent as agressive, does that mean you pull more timing than the stock calibration has ?

BTLFED, Yes I have modified the Amount of authority the pcm has when TM request or KR request for timing reduction are needed, To answer your question the amount of timing reduction in the B&G tune is less than what the Factory calibration would have requested.. The B&G tune also has modified a few other tables which can remove timing based on engine temp and intake air temp and transmission request for timing reduction also..We modify the KR timing reduction to be more liner and refined than the stock calibration. That is why even though you might see a KR spike or a small amount of KR in the B&G tune the power loss from the timing being removed will not be as great as the factory calibration with the same amount of KR would be.. Hope this helps
